Infertility stress
This article is about “Infertility stress”, we hope to bring more articles about “Infertility stress” in the near future:
Most infertility treatments and infertility doctors ignore the psycho-spiritual component of fertility boost. In other words, the mind-body connection is the missing link in infertility management. It appears that we have lived our lives as humans that we have forgotten that we are primarily spirits trying to have a human experience. Man is a spirit, he has a soul and live in an earth suit called the body. Anything or chemical impulse that happens in the body affects the soul (mind, core of the soul) and the spirit–the real you. Particularly for women, stress affects her mind, mood, and manners. When the soul overflows its banks, it spills into the body and the spirit. Sex hormones and reproductive organs are particularly subject to all kinds of emotional, mental and physical stress or distress. Worry, anxiety, regrets, tension, concern, fear and depression have all been described in an infertile woman. Women are particularly prone because a woman is a bag of hormones and emotions. This is also the aspect that most reproductive endocrinologists tend to trivialize.
When a woman is stressed, the sympathetic nervous system goes into overdrive to trigger the body to produce more of the stress hormones and less of the calming hormones. This imbalance negatively affects fertility. Imbalances also create oxidation, inflammation and fibrosis. Estrogen goes up to the detriment of progesterone and testosterone.
For these imbalances–marked by fatigue, low blood sugar, abdominal bloating, pelvic congestion, decreased immune function, irregular periods, poor complexion, mental fog, and irritability–I normally recommend a blend of tension-relieving herbs (valerian, chamomile, and hops), which relax the body and allow hormones to naturally adjust, increasing fertility. I get this my favorite tension-reducing herbal blend from Swanson’s Vitamins. It works well for nervous, restless, impatient and exhausted women. The recommended dosage is three capsules a day–usually in the evenings–to help enhance fertility.
Phillis Light add a tincture of agrimony and blue vervain to the mix depending on type of stress or tension involved. Agrimony is excellent for infertile women with poor digestion and fat metabolism who are experiencing mental tension. Blue vervain is great for strong-willed women who want control over their lives. These category of infertile women tend to have tight necks, and shoulders and often fall ill because distress overflows into physical sickness. Mix 10 drops of the tincture (agrimony and blue vervain) from an eye-dropper into half cup of warm water twice daily.
Most herbalists allow these natural remedies about three months–the duration of natural biorhythm cycle–to take effect. The herbs are safe and there are no contraindications, and it does not matter to become pregnant while taking these herbs. However, avoid mixing valerian and alcohol together because valerian can potentiate the effect of alcoholic beverages.
Do not also forget the role of relaxation, positive thinking, positive visualization, cognitive restructuring and prayer. Meeting with infertility support group is also encouraged. Massage and biofeedback techniques has been suggested.
