Crystals and gems exist in various forms, colors, and hardness. They have been used as jewelry by man for thousands of years. In fact, the value of diamonds, which are crystallized carbon to be exact, have remained unchanged all these years, and continue to be highly valued for their beauty and durability. But, crystals are more than just beautiful objects to adorn ourselves with. They have been used to balance, heal, and improve luck, for as long as man has been around. Here are some of the ways crystals are being used for the benefit of humans.

The science of using crystals to heal physical disorders is not new, and it is based on the electric conductivity of crystals, and the belief that all living things have an energy “body” that emanates from their physical body so long as they are alive. This energy runs in circuits around the body and interchange at points, better known as chakras. Placing crystals on the chakras is believed to help the organs of the body heal and perform their functions better.

Crystals can also be used to improve the health and growth rate of plants and pets. Some people plant a few crystals in their plant’s pots and swear that their plants grow even better than before. Other place small crystals in their pet’s drinking water and find that their pets like the water so much that after a while they refuse to drink other normal “types” of water.

Feng Shui experts believe placing crystals in strategic spots around the house will enhance the flow of positive energy into the house and enhance the occupant’s luck. Large amethyst geodes are commonly favored for this purpose. Even the placing of a large citrine ball near the cash registrar is believed to help bring more money to merchants.

The wearing of crystal rings is sometimes advocated by astrologers to improve luck. However, the crystal also needs to be of a specific type that is compatible with the wearers astrological birth chart. For instance, sapphire might be good for some people, but not suitable for others. A crystal worn on a ring can interact with the wearer’s energy body on a constant basis and this is believed to attract positive luck to flow into the wearer’s life.

There are some who believe Atlantis existed in the past, and it was destroyed due to misuse of power by the inhabitants. Crystals played a prominent role in the civilization of Atlantis, being used mainly as conductors of energy. Therefore, the power of crystals should not be underestimated, although one should always regard them as tools, and nothing more. If utilized in a proper way, crystals and gemstones can benefit anyone who uses them, in more ways than one.
