Break-ups are tough for everyone, even for movie stars. Lucky for the single folk, romance has proven itself a great topic and plot for movies of all times. The following films range from comedic to dramatic, all while keeping in mind the relevance to its favored viewer-the newly single.

War of the Roses

“Once in a lifetime comes a motion picture that makes you feel like falling in love all over again. This is not that movie.” The tagline says it all about this 1989 comedy starring Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner, and Danny DeVito. In this thriller, a married couple tries everything to get each other out of the house in a dirty divorce.

High Fidelity

This film’s got it all: comedy, drama, music, and romance. With a cast of John Cusack, Iben Hjejle, Todd Louiso, and Jack Black, the group tells a story of a record store owner as he looks back on his “top 5″ breakups.

First Wives Club

This movie was made for the ladies. Comedy ensues when three divorced women, played by Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn, and Diane Keaton, plot payback on thee husbands who left them for younger women.

How Stella Got Her Groove Back

Starring Angela Bassett, Taye Diggs, and Whoopi Goldberg, this dramatic romance lives up to its tagline, “Sometimes you have to break the rules to free your heart.” While the morality of this film may have been forgotten, viewers can drool over the Jamaican Island scenes and Diggs, of course.

Bridget Jones Diary

Renee Zellweger tells the story of many single women in this romantic comedy while she searches for love in a year in which she keeps a personal diary.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

This movie is more dramatic than romantic, but above all, it’s unique. Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet star as a couple who undergo a procedure to erase each other from their memories after they breakup. An interesting twist occurs in the lessons they remember.

Under the Tuscan Sun

While on vacation, a newly divorced writer buys a Tuscan village in hopes it will be the start of a change for a better life. Diane Lane and Sandra Oh star in this comedic, dramatic romance which was nominated for a Golden Globe.

The Way We Were

This 70s dramatic romance starring Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford tells the tale of two lovers involved in a wonderful romance but their political views drive them apart.

Casablanca

This infamous 40s film starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman deals with a “date with fate.” Set in the early days of World War II, an American expatriate meets an old flame, which brings forth complications.

Pride and Prejudice

Based on a novel by Jane Austen, this dramatic comedy is based around the coveted wedding day. When the Bennets try to find suitable husbands for their five single daughters, pride and prejudice complicate the relationships.

The Break-up

After a break-up between a Chicago couple played by Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn, the real feud begins when they try to decide who will keep their condo. Comedy ensues when each side attempts to force the other out.

Hopefully a few of these films perked your interest and can sit well you’re your next helping of Ben and Jerry’s. While these movies can help mend a broken heart for the short-term, they are just a start. After all, surely you have a set of comforting films to watch when you need a pick-me-up.

This article is about “What damage will 10 mph rear end collision cause”, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “What damage will 10 mph rear end collision cause”:

Drivers and passengers in moving vehicles regularly get injured in low speed, low impact collisions. The best example is a rear-end collision while in slowly moving traffic. Many times, the injuries are soft tissue injuries, like neck injuries, that are hard to diagnose and take time to treat. Insurance adjusters, whether independent or company adjusters, have a difficult time believing that you could have gotten injured in a low speed, low impact car wreck.

They think you’re lying.

So, if you’ve had a car wreck that could be considered low speed or low impact, know that the adjuster is going to start out at best skeptical, and at worst committed to proving that you weren’t injured.

Low speed accidents are self explanatory. But if you’re traveling at 45 mph and are struck by car going 55 mph, there’s only a 10 mph difference between cars, so that’s low impact.

Back in October 2004, I had a rear-end collision accident. The driver behind me wasn’t watching carefully when we slowed before a red light, and he struck me from behind. The impact drove my car’s front bumper into the car in front of me. The driver behind me got a ticket. The collision damage totaled $3,474.13, and my soft tissue neck injuries settled for $2,640.00, for a total of $6,114.00.

There is a lot more to the story than just that I got a settlement. I actually got $1,640.00 more than my insurance company initially offered. These are strategies you can learn.

But let’s get back to your accident. If you got rear-ended, the other driver is at fault to some degree. If he is uninsured, or if his insurance company will not accept liability, you might consider submitting a first party claim. If you’re making a first party claim, which is you making a claim to your own insurance company, your Collision coverage will cover damage to your car. That’s pretty clear-cut. Your injuries will be covered by your health insurance, not your car insurance. Your insurance company will then “subrogate,” or ask the other driver’s insurer to reimburse them for your claim.

The adjuster for the other driver is going to do an investigation, consisting of:

1.	Photos of all four sides of your vehicle to document the damage, but also to determine if there was pre-existing damage.

2.	Vehicle appraisal of damages

3.	Recorded statement from you. The other adjuster is going to ask you questions meant to get you to say something that could allow them to deny your claim. Understand that you do not have any legal obligation to give a recorded statement to the other driver’s adjuster. If you decide to grant a recorded statement, ONLY do it in the presence of your own attorney. And, you should include your attorney’s bill in your insurance claim.

4.	Witness interviews and statements.

5.	Background information. The adjuster will run your name through several databases, including ISO Claimsearch and the National Insurance Crimes Bureau to see if you’ve filed previous insurance claims. Don’t give your Social Security number to the adjuster. That just makes his job of getting your background information easier.

6.	Collect your medical bills and medical history. The adjuster will likely present you with a Medical Authorization Form for your signature. READ THIS FORM VERY CAREFULLY!! Most times, the form is so vaguely worded that you give them permission to collect medical information for your entire lifetime.

Only sign an authorization that permits them to have the medical records and bills for this single incident, not your life history. Have your attorney read the form before you sign it.

7.	Have experts evaluate your damages. The reason insurers hire experts is to find ways to deny or minimize claims, not help you prove your claim.

8.	Waiting and delay. Delay is the most effective tool in the hands of the insurance companies. They can certainly afford to wait, even though you may not be able to wait. Delay leads to compromise and compromise very often leads to lower claim settlements.

9.	Negotiate your settlement with you or your attorney. Please understand that adjusters are not intimidated by personal injury attorneys. They actually prefer to deal with them, since they won’t have to deal with you anymore. It also adds more delays to the claims process, which puts financial pressure on YOU.

10.	Settlement. Low speed/low impact claims usually have a low price tag, many times below $25,000. It doesn’t usually make economic sense for a personal injury attorney to litigate a case this small, as it could cost them $5000-$10,000 to litigate. So, if the adjuster makes a “take it or leave it” offer of $15,000 (on a $25,000 case), your attorney will likely take it. That saves a ton of money for the insurer, and the adjuster gets to close another file and look good to his boss.

Remember, friends…this claims process is all about the money. It is not about truth, or justice, fair or unfair claims practices.

It is all about the money.

If you have experienced a property loss, whether fire, wind, flood or other, you need to know winning insurance claim strategies. The insurance company will not tell you the claims process, but I will. I will show you how to take control of your insurance claim, and add hundreds or even thousands more dollars to your claim settlement. For more information, go to the website listed below.

Tattoo art form are increasing in popularity especially in the US and European countries. Trendy and decorative tattoo designs are a choice of every next person. Moreover, the choice is not less. Tattoos are available in several design and sizes, so you need not worry about how to decorate your body. Few of the most fashionable contemporary tattoos are butterfly tattoo designs, dragon tattoo designs, tribal tattoo designs, cross tattoo designs, henna tattoo designs, and religious tattoo designs, the list is long!

Butterflies have essentially been thought of as a style statement for years together. Be it garments, accessories, baggage, or jewellery, this lovely creature has managed to form a creative idea. The vibrant colors of the butterfly sported on you would make you look hot. Butterflies tattoo designs are very colorful and have a nice blend of eye-catching colors.

Tattoos with butterfly pictures will leave you in confusion for the selection. Some of the coolest butterfly tattoo designs are tribal butterfly tattoos, fairy butterfly tattoos, lower back butterfly tattoos, animal butterfly tattoos and Celtic butterfly tattoos. Tribal butterfly tattoos are generally influenced by ancestral art from local and native tribes. The tribal art comes from the large clans or tribes from Ireland and Scotland and even some of the tribes of Borneo. Butterflies since many ages have been linked with fairies. Butterfly wings are considered fairy wings and vice versa. A butterfly really represents a multi-colored picture of Mother Nature itself. Hence, these fairy butterfly tattoo designs are even more famed especially with females and modern males.

These butterfly tattoo designs have held a special place in a woman’s heart. Amongst the preferred designs, the butterfly tattoo designs are one of the favorites. Butterfly tattoos come in wide-ranging designs and color formats, from two toned ones to multicolored. Normally, its are tattooed on the arm or on the shoulder blade no matter it is permanent or not. There are the energetic ones who have butterfly tattoos positioned on their neck or ankle if they can take the pain of the needles for lasting and permanent tattoos.

They are a subject of creative expression and the blending of colors is very unique and expressive. Butterfly tattoo designs are all about taking butterfly in the kingdom of fashion and combining it with art forms. The butterfly tattoos not only interest the lady world, but are amongst the chosen designs of the artists too. Permanent or temporary stick ones, even body painting; the tattoo designers love to play with colors that make the butterfly wings.

Some butterfly tattoos survive just a few days and can be cleaned off by any paint remover, some of them just need soap and water to vanish. Body painted butterfly tattoo designs are not very lasting and thus give a better chance of variety. Irrespective of the type a butterfly tattoo design, it is always amongst the finest designs as one can have fun with colors which are not likely with any other design.

TMJ Symptoms are more common than you might at first think, and many different factors can contribute to Temporomandibular joint disorder. Some of the most common symptoms that you may experience might include…

Trouble chewing food

intense migraines

sore jaw

trouble opening jaw

nausea and/or throwing up

Popping or clicking noise when opening the jaw

What causes TMJ as you shall soon see is quite common. Many cases are contributed to trauma or events of high stress. For instance, an individual who has lost a loved one and is struggling with their work load at the office may start grinding their teeth while they sleep. After a while of doing this night after night, the effects of clenched teeth can be felt, leading to more problem with Temporomandibular joint disorder.

In some cases people who are dealing with TMJ symptoms will also experience ear ringing, also known as tinnitus.

Another name for this disorder is Costen syndrome, named after the fellow who helped identify it. There is a TMJ part on either side of your jaw, and each one consists of many little parts such as nerves, muscles and bones.

As a result, any area of either TMJ can becoming aggitated, causing a person to experience at times excruciating symptoms of TMJ.

TMJ Treatment

Some people find relief by using mouth guards, which helps to also protect tooth enamel, however in very extreme cases this only makes things worse for some patients – actually causing their teeth grinding to get worse.

In some extreme cases oral surgery might be used to correct any abnormalities that had previously been overlooked. There are numerous methods for realignment and replacement of crucial areas.

However, the medical world truly recommends that if possible, any treatment tried should be reversible, which rules out many procedures of oral surgery – making them an absolute last resort.

This article is about “How much damage on car at 15 mph”, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “How much damage on car at 15 mph”:

Thousands of automobile collisions occur everyday. And every day thousands are injured. Researchers note that the majority of accident injury claims occur at relatively low speeds of about 12 mph.

This causes tremendous disputes between injured parties and the insurance companies that are responsible for compensating them fro their injuries. To insurers, there really is no speed at which they want to admit and injury could occur. For economic reasons they try to dismiss whiplash in its entirety as if it doesn’t exist.

Thanks to recent irrefutable research studies proving the existence and exact mechanism of whiplash injuries, insurers are hard pressed to try the “whiplash is a hoax” defense nearly as much as in the past.

A more recent tactic is to claim the speed of the collision is too low to cause injury. The defense often relies on their insured’s reports of how fast they were going when they ran into the back of the other party-obviously biased data. Other times photographs of the vehicle damage is used to show a low speed. Often, the photographs are shown to an Accident Reconstructionist who by merely looking at photographic damage renders an opinion on how fast the vehicles were traveling. They will even go so far to make statements such as “the evidence suggests there was insufficient force to cause human bodily injury…” This would be laughable if it didn’t cause so many problems for injured victims.

Here are but a few facts concerning motor vehicle injuries and their relationship to speed with supporting scientific evidence.

Three different studies (Panjabi, Panjabi and Cholewicki and Kaneoka) proved the mechanism by which the neck is injured by a rear impact force. [1], [2], [3] The studies involved simulating a rear impact collision ot live human test subjects and recording the results with cineradiography (high speed motion x-rays). The researchers found that the neck was injured by deforming into an “S- shaped” configuration. All three of these studies found that this physical event occurred at speeds as low as 2.5 mph.

The radiographically proven human threshold for injury in a rear impact collision therefore is 2.5 mph. Other authors have disputed these figures and some insurance company sponsored studies have found the threshold to be closer to 5 mph.

For the sake of argument, let’s stipulate that the 5 mph threshold is correct. It still means that a collision of only 5 mph can cause damage to the neck.

Freeman et. al. in Spine, Vol. 23, Number 9, 1998, p. 1046 shows the damage thresholds for many cars. This is the minimum speed required to cause the car to show visible signs of damage. The smallest, lightest vehicle listed was the 1980 Toyota Tercel, which required a collision of 8.1 mph to become damaged. On the other end of the spectrum was the 1989 Chevrolet Citation, which required 12.7 mph. A Ford F-250 pick up required 11.7 mph.

Cars built today are equipped with rear bumpers designed not to show any damage below 5 mph. In an attempt to reduce repair costs shouldered by insurance companies, crash standards were adopted to mandate rear bumpers must withstand a 5 mph collision into a fixed barrier (wall, pole, etc) without any visible evidence of damage. It should be noted that this standard involves testing of “vehicle to barrier” crashes not “vehicle to vehicle” testing.

In “vehicle to vehicle” crashes where the bumpers line up well, it takes considerably more force to cause visible bumper damage than a 5 mph collision. Some tests have shown that cars could be crashed repeatedly at 20 mph and not show outer damage. In a “vehicle to vehicle” crash it is estimated that the minimum speed to cause visible damage is approximately 15 mph.

Another consideration is that while a bumper may look undamaged from the outside after a collision, inside under the skin, the foam or plastic may be crushed or cracked. This is not seen from the outside, so photographs would make it appear as if no damage was sustained. Still further, the bumper may appear intact, but on unibody vehicles, the unibody may be bent or deformed by a collision. This may not be apparent and some auto repair facilities may miss it.

So what does this mean? It means that if you are rear-ended and your bumper is cracked, dented, or misplaced at all, your collision involved speeds in excess of 15 mph. That’s 3 times the human threshold for injury if we use the 5 mph figure. In reality, the proven threshold is only 2.5 mph, so a collision of 15 mph is 6 times the threshold for injury.

Now let’s say your vehicle sustained no visible damage, but your neck hurts after the collision. Does that mean you weren’t really injured? No. It means that the vehicle’s threshold for damage was not exceeded. The impact could have been 10 mph. Too low for bumper damage, but still 4 times the threshold for human injury.

In a low speed collision, the kinetic forces that are transferred from the other vehicle into your vehicle are not dampened or bled off by your bumper. Instead, the force is transmitted through the vehicle, into your seat and to your neck resulting in injury. If your body or neck are jolted or jerked by the impact, an injury could occur.

Another aspect to consider is if your vehicle is moved forward by the impact. An average car weighs close to 4,000 lbs. Let’s say you are hit from behind and your car is pushed forward a few feet, but shows no signs of bumper damage. Is it possible to be hurt? Yes, of course. The force required to move a stationary 4,000 lb object is tremendous. Can you walk up to a car sitting at a red light with its brakes on and shove it forward even an inch? Not likely. A collision that is strong enough to propel a car forward by even inches is plenty enough force to cause a whiplash injury.

So, as you have now learned, there really shouldn’t be any dispute on whether a low speed collision can cause injuries. It has been scientifically proven by several studies. It is also a fact that the speed required to cause bodily injury is quite low, a scant 2.5 mph. It has also been shown that any accident that causes damage to the rear bumper is likely to cause injuries and even in accidents where there is no outward physical damage to the vehicle, there may still be sufficient forces involved to cause bodily injuries.

This article is about “What are some injuries that can be sustained from being rearended traveling about 15mph”, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “What are some injuries that can be sustained from being rearended traveling about 15mph”:

This article is about “Tmj and celiac disease”, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “Tmj and celiac disease”:

Do you have Fibromyalgia? Are you constantly sick and tired all the time? Have you been told to live with it and that there is no cure? Could you actually have Celiac Disease and it has been undiagnosed? Is there a possibility you could find a solution to all your health problems that is a simple as a change in diet?

Fibromyalgia is a complex pain syndrome, with a multitude of different symptoms and without a single known cause. There are many symptoms. Here are some of them:

?	Increased sensitivity

?	Stiffness on Awakening.

?	Arthritis like pain, with or without joint involvement

?	Fatigue

?	Un-refreshed sleep (tired on awakening)

?	Sleep Disturbances

?	Muscular pain

?	Tendon pain

?	Hormonal effects

?	Headaches and Migraines

?	Brain Fog

?	Depression

?	Exercise Intolerance

?	Low immunity/ frequent infections

?	Stomach/ Bowel disturbances /Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

?	TMJ/ jaw pain.

Many people tend to have Fibromyalgia as a co-existing condition along with another disease. The most common of these is Rheumatoid Arthritis, but it can also exist with Lupus, or Psoriasis. However is also possible for it to exist as a stand alone disease. There is however another possibility that has been overlooked and that is the incidence of Celiac Disease that is being misdiagnosed as Fibromyalgia.

Celiac Disease is an auto-immune disease that is, the body mistakenly attacks its own tissues seeing them as a foreign substance. When a person with Celiac Disease eats any food containing gluten (the protein found in Wheat, Rye, Oats and Barley), the body reacts to those proteins found in the gluten and attacks the small finger like projections in the small intestine called villi, thus preventing absorption of food. This leads to major digestive disorders, stomach ailments, fatigue, anemia, headaches, exhaustion, and pain and fatigue.

At least 1 in 100 people have Celiac Disease but it is often missed. It is not commonly something that is checked for when someone has all the fibromyalgia symptoms, but it is worth ruling out and investigating. It is diagnosed by a blood test and by a biopsy of the small intestine during a gastroscopy. The simple treatment of it is a completely Gluten free diet.

Most often people with Fibromyalgia have digestive disorder complaints, most commonly they are told that it is caused by Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). The symptoms of this are alternating diarrhea and constipation, nausea, bloating and wind and constant fatigue. Well unsurprisingly this is also the exact symptoms of Celiac Disease! How many doctors have checked their Fibromyalgia patients for Celiac. I know I wasn’t.

Since following a Gluten free diet all my symptoms of Fibromyalgia and IBS have disappeared! I am however not advocating that all Fibromyalgia is caused by Celiac Disease, but don’t you think it’s worth your health to rule it out.

After being sick and misdiagnosed for over 20 years, Yael finally found the cause of her constant pain, anemia, fatigue, fibromyalgia and digestive problems. When she was finally diagnosed with Celiac Disease everything changed. She was able to start her life again. There is not nearly enough awareness about this disease.
Fibromyalgia has been recorded in medical studies for at least 100 years, but only recently have folks learned that the natural cures for that ailment can be the better solution. Many people have benefited tremendously from the natural remedies available for fibromyalgia, and are enjoying substantial improvements to their overall wellbeing. Knowing these facts should enable you to make additional informed decisions for you and your loved ones suffering from this problem.

If you or someone you know suffers from fibromyalgia, then you’re well aware of the chronic pain that is usually caused by this situation. What you may not know about the illness is fibromyalgia is often a pain disorder impacting the muscles and skeletal structure that has no common cause.

A variety of leading scientists have theorized that diet plays a large part inside improvement of this syndrome. What is known is that for centuries, the human body subsisted on eating grains, meats and vegetables. In modern society, we are now assaulted by excess carbs, fats, preservatives and other chemicals.

As a result of all this unhealthy consumption and exposure to several foods and substances, the human body has responded by breaking down to some degree; and for some people, ailments such as fibromyalgia have developed.

Correcting the body’s imbalances by way of natural remedies can efficiently regain the organic energy, vitality, and optimum state of wellbeing that all of us have the capacity to energy.

While there are now different prescription medications out there to deal with fibromyalgia, these only deal with signs and symptoms and not the trigger. I believe that is where organic remedies are usually most effective, as they do the job to purge the body from all the above-mentioned fats, carbs, and other unhealthy substances.

Several fibromyalgia scientists believe amino acids are probably the most significant healthy supplement to consider & a means to cure their ailment. It’s important that only free-form amino acids are utilized to treat fibromyalgia as they work quickly and do not need to be fully digested so as to take on effect.

Among the many several remedies for fibromyalgia are free-form amino acids. Study has shown that fibromyalgia sufferers have an inability to correctly procedure proteins, which are converted into amino acids that are utilized by the system to develop enzymes. These enzymes play a part in the repair, growth and maintenance of shape tissues, and assistance to regulate blood sugar levels – a necessary action for the suitable function in the immune process.

Recent studies have shown that some fibromyalgia sufferers have a vitamin D deficiency. The signs or symptoms of this situation contain bone and muscle problem, and muscle weakness, consequently an excellent way to boost your total health by stimulating your organic resources is to take on vitamin D supplements. Vitamin D3 is the most effective kind of vitamin D supplement that fibromyalgia sufferers can take.

A natural anti-inflammatory, methyl sulfonyl methane also reduces problem and numerous persons have reported improvement in their wellness with they consider dietary supplements of methyl sulfonyl methane. Made to operate in conjunction, methyl sulfonyl methane and free form amino acids can be really efficient natural cures for fibromyalgia when taken together.

Fibromyalgia sufferers are deficient in methyl sulfonyl methane, a naturally occurring sulphur compound which is found in the shape. This compound is a healthy element of numerous fresh fruits and vegetables, but could be destroyed in the course of cooking or processing.

As you can see, you aren’t relegated to some life using the pain of fibromyalgia, and you’ve the alternative to acquire prescription medication or switch to some more organic variety of therapy. People who suffer from fibromyalgia have plenty of cause for hope – especially when it comes for the numerous organic therapies available for this situation.

This article is about “Neck injuries from 12 mph crash possible rearend”, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “Neck injuries from 12 mph crash possible rearend”:

Upwards of 3 million car crashes occur each year in the US. 93% of those are said to be due to driver error.[1] Many crashes are low speed and result in no apparent injury, but a significant number of crashes cause serious injury and long term consequences for the victims. Up to 40% of whiplash injuries become chronic painful conditions. [2]

In an effort to reduce the number of whiplash injuries due to car crashes, I am sharing information on how to avoid suffering a whiplash injury. You have very little control over someone crashing into you. And you have very little control once you are hit over how badly you will be injured. So the premise of this article is to provide practical tips on how to minimize injuries when you are faced with the inevitable collision.

Whiplash injuries result from shearing forces in the neck due to the vehicle being propelled forward while the head and neck stay momentarily stationary. The neck takes on an “S’ shaped deformation resulting in damage to the muscles, ligaments, discs, nerves and joints. Injuries may occur in very low speed collisions of only 2.5 mph. By the time you are conscious of the impact, your neck is damaged.[3] [4] [5]

In our previous article you learned the one thing to do to prevent whiplash is to adjust your head restraint properly. [6] [7]

This article will address a few of the many factors researchers have discovered aggravate or intensify whiplash injuries. These factors relate to what you can do to prevent or minimize an injury when faced with a certain collision.

Factor 1: Awareness

Occupants who have no prior knowledge to a crash are 15 times more likely to suffer injury. [8] With this in mind it makes sense to avoid an injury you need to be aware of your surroundings and watch your rear view mirror when stopping at lights or in stop and go traffic on the freeway. Be aware of tires squeals and sounds of collisions behind. If you see a collision coming you will know what to do with the next tip.

Factor 2: Bracing

According to researcher Teasell injury is greater “when the impact is unexpected and the victims is unable to brace.”[8] Anyone who watched Star Trek or old WWII submarine movies knows this. When faced with a crash “go to battle stations.” The command “brace! brace! brace!” should come to mind. The second you notice another vehicle may strike you, brace for the crash by leaning your head against the head restraint and your body back against the seat. If you’re the driver put both hands on the steering wheel and stretch your arms out to push yourself back into the seat. Firmly plant your foot on the brake and the other foot on the floor. By bracing like this your entire body becomes rigid and is essentially part of the car. Bracing like this will prevent injuries in just about any low speed collision and will minimize damage in higher speed collisions. If you have passengers command everyone to “lean back, hold on!”

Factor 3: Body position

Injuries are magnified by your head, body or the vehicle itself being turned at an angle.[9] For maximum protection you want both sides of your muscles and ligaments to bear the load of a collision. If your head is turned, only one side is working and you suffer greater damage. So, when the collision is imminent and you are bracing look straight ahead. Do not look into the rear view mirror. Head tilt up, down or to the side will make neck damage worse. Look straight ahead and brace for it.

When stopping at an intersection to make a left turn or in the right lane to make a right turn, keep your car headed straight ahead until you are ready to turn and move through the intersection. If you “cheat” and angle your car while waiting in the intersection you are opening yourself up to greater injury by being turned at impact. Worse, in the case of making a left turn, if your wheels re turned and you unexpectedly get hit from behind, your vehicle is likely to get pushed wherever your wheels are aimed, which means right into oncoming traffic! Keep the wheels straight until its time to go.

Factor 4: Expect a second impact

Once the initial collision occurs and you are properly braced you need to ride out the collision, keeping your foot hard on the brakes until you come to a stop. But you’re not out of the woods yet. Be prepared to hit the vehicle in front of you! Keep bracing. If you miss the vehicle in front, do not let up yet. Keep bracing for several more seconds until you are absolutely sure there are not going to be more collisions behind you. This is especially important on freeways where there tends to be multiple car collisions. Let your guard down too soon and even though you avoided injuries from the first impact, a second one may hit the vehicle that hit you and bang, you’re unprepared and injured.

Millions of collisions occur every year leaving thousands to suffer long term pain and disability. Most of the time it is out of your control whether or not you get hit, but you can take steps to prevent or minimize injuries. Learn these tips and teach them to your family and friends so that they too will avoid becoming a crash statistic.

In the next article of this series, I will explain what you MUST do immediately after the collision…

This article is about “Minimum pressure human injuries”, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “Minimum pressure human injuries”:

1. MANAGE STRESS: Although stress is a normal part of the human experience, it is how we manage stress. Stress and anxiety cause chemicals to be released into your body, raise your blood pressure and cause a reduction of blood flow to your heart. Most people in Stage 1 or 2 of adrenal fatigue typically have elevated blood pressure secondary to increased cortisol and adrenaline. Those with hypertension should always rule out heavy metal toxicity. LDL cholesterol levels may increase from excessive stress too.

Winning Formulas to Relax and Manage Stress (practice some form of stress reduction EVERY day):

-	Prioritize – write down your priorities

-	Breathe – Full, deep belly breathing. Start with a minimum of two minutes every day and gradually increase to ten minutes daily.

-	Yoga

-	Meditation

-	Massage

-	Listen to calm music

-	Warm, aromatherapy bath with Epsom salts

-	Change how you view situations

-	Surround yourself with like-minded people and friends. You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. Be aware and eliminate unhealthy, stressful social behaviors including arguments, drama, drinking, inactivity, unhealthy eating and over-eating.

o	University of Utah psychologist found that women in strained marriages are more likely to feel depressed and suffer high blood pressure, obesity and other signs of “metabolic syndrome,” a group of risk factors for heart disease, stroke and diabetes.

-	Dissolve unhealthy lose-win relationships and focus on attracting only win-win relationships.

2. ELIMINATE ALL PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED OILS (TRANS FATS): Partially hydrogenated oils are found in thousands of processed foods (breakfast cereals, cookies, chips, fried foods, packaged foods, all CRAP food). Trans fats are proven to cause heart disease. Restaurant food, especially from fast food chains, often serve food loaded with trans fats.

Consequences of a diet high in trans fats include:

-	Inflammation

-	Immune dysfunction

-	Decreased testosterone

-	Arthritis

-	Cancer

-	Decreased IQ – learning disabilities. American IQ has dropped 20 points in the past 20 years.

-	Diabetes

-	Elevated blood pressure

-	Free radical production

-	Heart Disease

-	Interferes with neurological & visual development of fetus

-	Liver damage

-	Obesity

-	Osteoporosis

-	Type II diabetes

3. LOSE BODY FAT: This is achieved with the “4 Powers” – Nutrition, Lifestyle, Exercise and Supplements. Excess body fat stresses your joints and organs, including your heart. Decreasing body fat in a healthy, slow, steady manner will improve your health, lower your cholesterol and reduce blood pressure and your risk of diabetes.

4. CONSISTENT EXERCISE: This isn’t breaking news. Exercise will help you reduce stress, decrease body fat, increase your metabolism and lower your risk of diabetes. Adequate, consistent exercise will lower your blood pressure and increase the “good” HDL cholesterol and lower your triglycerides. Take a brisk 30 minute walk every day. There is evidence that resistance training results in a more favorable balance in myocardial oxygen supply and demand than aerobic exercise due to the lower heart rate and higher myocardial perfusion pressure. Moderate intensity strength training can control or prevent hypertension. Circulation 116: 572-584, 2007.

5. ELIMINATE HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP: HFCS is the number one source of calories for most Americans and causes obesity. You’ll find high-fructose corn syrup in processed crap food, sodas, syrup that goes into your Latte from Starbucks, etc. HFCS is extremely toxic to your liver, increases inflammation, oxidative stress and creates an aggressive insulin response.

6. SUPPLEMENTS FOR HYPERTENSION: Omega-3 fish oils, magnesium, vitamin D, Biotics VasculoSirt, Green Tea Extract, Hawthorne Extract, Digestive enzymes, Probiotics, Ginger

-	Ginger has blood pressure-lowering effects that can protect against the chronic brain injury caused by hypertension. Vascul Pharmacol, 2005 Oct;43(4):234-41

-	Diuretics cause potassium levels to drop increasing the risk of hypokalemia.

-	Beta-blockers reduce heart rate and cardiac output potentially reducing exercise performance.

-	With calcium channel blockers systolic and diastolic blood pressures are reduced during exercise which may result in light headedness and peripheral edema post-exercise.

-	Additional side effects from hypertension drugs include: dizziness, increased risk of breast cancer, memory loss, nausea, asthma-like symptoms, joint pain and impotence in men.

SUPPLEMENTS FOR ELEVATED CHOLESTEROL: Omega-3 fish oils, CoQ10, tocotrienols, pantethine, vitamin D, Biotics LipidSirt, Green Tea Extract

According to a recent study, men with higher vitamin D levels had a 59% reduction in heart attacks. So if vitamin D’s only benefit was to reduce coronary heart attack rates by 59%, the net savings (after deducting the cost of the vitamin D) if every American supplemented properly would be around $85 billion each year. Arch Intern Med. 2008 Jun 9; 168(11):1174-80

7. FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE increase potassium rich foods such as vegetables, fruits, legumes and fish. Most Americans consume only half the recommended daily intake of potassium and twice the suggested limit for sodium! Potassium can influence BP levels by increasing sodium excretion from the body by stimulating the blood vessels to dilate, opening potassium channels.

FOR ELEVATED CHOLESTEROL increase consumption of plant sterols, sometimes called phytosterols. Plant sterols are the healthy compounds that occur naturally in a variety of plant foods such as fruits and vegetables, seeds and nuts. These foods are recognized for their proven role in lowering LDL “bad” cholesterol levels.

FOR BOTH, ELEVATED CHOLESTEROL and HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE include beta-glucan for fiber, a natural occurring soluble fiber found in whole-grain, oat based cereals. Beta-glucan has LDL cholesterol lowering benefits and substantial decreases in blood pressure.

8. INCREASE CONSUMPTION OF SMART FATS and ORGANIC PROTEIN:

FATS – avocado, wild fish, raw (unsalted) organic nuts and seeds, coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil

PROTEINS – Grass-fed beef and buffalo, cage-free poultry, wild salmon, fish, eggs, quality whey protein isolate or concentrate.

9. DECREASE ALCOHOL and CAFFEINE CONSUMPTION and INCREASE WATER INTAKE: Alcohol and caffeine cause adrenaline rushes that make blood pressure soar. Alcohol, sugar and processed, refined grains also lead to insulin resistance, hypertension and elevated cholesterol. Alcohol can affect your nerves and how your liver processes fat in the blood. Alcohol and caffeine disrupt blood glucose levels. Not only is alcohol hard on the body, just one drink can cause cellular death in several organs such as the brain.

Take your bodyweight and multiply by.7 – this will give you the number of ounces you should be drinking daily. Add a pinch of Celtic sea salt and lemon to your water.

10. ELIMINATE SUGAR, REFINED CARBOHYDRATES and ALL ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS: Phenylalanine, especially found in Nutra-Sweet and OTC antihistamines, can aggravate high blood pressure.

Sugar is more addictive than cocaine! Sugar has a profound influence on your brain function and your psychological function. When you consume excess amounts of sugar, your body releases excess amounts of insulin, which in turn causes a drop in your blood sugar, also known as hypoglycemia. Sugar and refined carbohydrates wreak havoc on blood glucose levels.

In addition, sugar is pro-flammatory and damages skin collagen and promotes again and wrinkles, increases your appetite, depletes your body of B vitamins, causes joint degeneration, ADHD and other behavior disorders, stimulates cholesterol synthesis and weight gain. This is just a small list of sugars’ toxic side effects.

Hypertension and elevated cholesterol (as well as diabetes) can be managed WITHOUT pharmaceutical drugs. HOW? Healthy lifestyle habits, stress management, supplements, diet and nutrition, a proper exercise program and fat loss.
