This article is about “Mind dome, zaha hadid”, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “Mind dome, zaha hadid”:

Iraqi born designer and architect, Zaha Hadid, studied at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, forming a close working relationship with her tutor, Dutch architect, Rem Koolhaas with whom she worked with during the 70′s. In 1980, she opened her own practice in London.

It is without doubt that Zaha Hadid has a reputation for remarkable design and architecture equally matched by her remarkable character and temperament. Her vivacious imagination began at age 11, and now transcends to her striking furniture and object design and particularly in her architectural design.

Her strong and often single-mindedness, allowing for little compromise, has resulted in some of her best works remaining unbuilt. (Cardiff Bay Opera House was spectacularly lost) However, this same uncompromising spirit has also seen Hadid become, arguably, the most successful female designer and architect in the world. Immortalised as the first ever woman to win the Pritzker Prize for Architecture in it’s 26 year history, Hadid, or “the diva” as her critics refer to her, has risen triumphant in a field which is traditionally domineered by men.

Her designs are completely untraditional and challenging, which is what makes them so dramatic. Clients for which she has designed furniture and objects for, include Swarovski, Dupont, Sawaya & Moroni, and Alessi.

Hadid’s ‘Moraine’ sofa was commissioned by the renowned

Italian company Sawaya & Moroni. Covered in red ‘Fantasy Leather’, the ‘Moraine’ breaks new ground in its radical curvilinear asymmetrical form, a piece of furniture that is both sculpture and seating, abstract and functional.

Dupont were said to be delighted with Hadid’s ‘Z Kitchen Design’ which features the company’s remarkable design material Corian

to perfection. Made in Glacier white the kitchen features 2 Islands

- Fire (for cooking) and Water (for washing). The futuristic design

comes equipped with numerous features such as embedded heating membranes, touch control panels, sound activators and scent dispensers, LED lighting and a multimedia entertainment system.

A limited edition “Tea and Coffee Tower” was created for an Alessi project where 22 renowned designers were asked to create a “tea and coffee object”, given total freedom. Hadid’s sterling silver sculpture splits into four elements: teapot, coffee pot, milk jug and sugar bowl. This exceptional piece of artwork behaves like a three-dimensional puzzle, sitting within a tray that guides the user through the multiple configurations.

In 2006, she created an Aqua Table for Established & Sons, which she describes as “like flying over water”.

Using a translucent silicon gel, contours formed over the smooth tabletops, creating a liquid color which draws the eye of the viewer. Once again Hadid was able to establish yet another ‘first’ when the table sold for a record breaking amount at a New York Auction.

Similarly, the “Seamless” range of modern furniture, again for Established and Sons, has a liquid quality featuring 9 designs made of painted polyester resin. The New York Times stated that Hadid gives ‘liquidity’ a whole new meaning.

The total fluidity is also prevalent in her interior design and architectural projects which have an indescribable ‘movement’. In fact, Hadid herself has expressed that her ideal home would have ‘moving walls’, so the kitchen could actually move and the bathroom would not need to be fixed in one place. In 2007, she exhibited “My Ideal House” at International Furniture Fair, Cologne, Germany, a creation which literally ‘morphed’ into each living space.

She has created interiors for the Guggenheim Museum in New

York, the Vienna Kunsthalle, and the Hayward Gallery in London.

By all means, her architectural feats are most notable, both for their strikingly vivid presence and ambitious structural accomplishment. Creating structural space was certainly a stuttering start. Her first big success, The Peak, a spa planned for Hong Kong, was never built. Nor were buildings on Berlin’s Kurfürstendamm, or an art and media centre in Dusseldorf.

Hadid’s first built project, The Fire Station at the production complex of the Vitra office furniture group, was a formal success but not a functional one. The fire service moved out and the building was converted into a chair museum. And the public opposition to her unconventional vision for the Cardiff Bay Opera House in the 1990′s is now notorious, but history.

This became a turning point and architectural successes followed. These include the BMW Plant, Leipzig – Germany. The Central

Bergisel Mountain overlooking downtown Innsbruck, the ski jump is a major landmark. The Wolfsberg Science Centre, the first of its kind in Germany, and a landmark project. The Rosenthal Center for Contemporary Art in Cincinnati, Ohio. The New York Times described it, without overstatement, as “the most important new building in America since the Cold War.” Zaha explains her style as a ‘virtuoso of elegance’. Explaining that

personal investigation and research

is laden with so many ideas that one cannot extrude a single one, so there is no formal repertoire.

“It’s like a pianist constantly practicing – it’s the same level of intensity. It increases the repertoires immensely – it’s unpredictable”, she says.

Inspiration is drawn from many influences including Erich Mendelsohn, Mies van der Rohe, and le Corbusier. While she respects many contemporary designers and architects, she states that, “Many are too obsessed by method. It becomes a dogma.”

By all means, Zaha has not followed any methods, instead keeping focus on her goals, she has rigidly stormed through her career, leaving a string of international awards, prestigious titles and accolades in her wake.

She is currently Professor at the University of Applied Arts Vienna in Austria and her work will be on show in a major exhibition at London’s Design Museum throughout 2007.

Zaha Hadid has accomplished recognition both as a modern furniture designer and architect as well as a woman. In a field where woman have to work that much harder to make a difference, her work is often more surprising, in more subtle ways.

This article is about “Find info on Goldie Hawn Mind Up”, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “Find info on Goldie Hawn Mind Up”:

Friendship isn’t always easily described. The Eskimos, they say, have a hundred different words for snow. Unfortunately, the English language isn’t quite as innovative, though it has vast opportunities to differentiate meaning. Certainly, Love is one of those opportunities. And so, too, is Friendship.

Instead of different words, however, we’re stuck with simple adjectives. Close friend. Best friend. Childhood friend. Intimate friend. Trusted friend. Beloved friend. But whether you use adjectives or different words, few could deny the nearly infinite meaning in such a simple word.

Friends are special people. We can’t pick our family, and we’re sorely limited in the number of them at any rate. Society and mores (and often our own conscience) dictate we select a single mate. But our friends can be as diverse and infinite as the adjectives we choose. Our friends, in a very real sense, reflect the choices we make in life.

Below given is a list of movies, which show how precious, intricate and intimate friendship can be

An Intimate Friendship (2000)

This movie showed how the life of family of very strong friends get disrupted, when two of the friends realize that their love for one another goes beyond the confines of their conventional relationship.

An Officer And A Gentleman (1998)

In this film we see David Keith Loser/loner Zach Mayo enlists in the Navy because he wants to inject a little direction into his wayward life. During his 13-week boot camp, he gets taught a lot of lessons of discipline, friendship and ultimately, love, as he starts off as a son trying to escape his father’s past, and ends up as an officer and a gentleman.

Au Revoir Les Enfants (1987)

This is an autobiographical account of a boy’s first friendship – and his discovery of the real world. Set in a Catholic boarding school during the German occupation of France, this is the powerful story of Julien Quentin, a sensitive, headstrong 12-year-old boy who befriends the new student in his class. The boy – Jean Bonnet – sees differently than the others. But Julien is intrigued and the two begin a shaky friendship. One day, by accident, Julien learns of a secret that will change the young boys’ lives forever.

Beaches (1988)

This movie begins with a thirty-year friendship, when two little girls meet on the beach in Atlantic City. Bette Midler plays a diva not unlike her real-life persona, Barbara Hershey a lawyer stricken with a fatal disease. Have a hanky on hand for when Bette sings Wind Beneath My Wings.

Boys On The Side (1995)

Here’s a different kind of road film–the adventurers are women, and no ordinary women at that. Whoopi Goldberg plays a lesbian, Mary-Louise Parker’s character has AIDS and Drew Barrymore’s, surprise, surprise–is running from her past. In spite of their differences, they form a powerful supportive bond during their entertaining journey.

Brokedown Palace (1999)

Two best friends’ dream vacation becomes a nightmare in this movie. Each falls for the same mysterious man, and in one instant their lives are changed forever. In a foreign land, they must prove their innocence before it’s too late. A tale of self-discovery and the ultimate sacrifice for a friend.

Circle Of Friends (1994)

A film about the lives, loves and betrayals of three Irish girls, Bennie, Eve and Nan during their freshman year at Trinity College in Dublin.

Clueless (1995)

This zany comedy movie showing self-absorbed, fashion obsessed teens in Southern California. Though jealousy over guys nearly pulls them apart, friendship wins out, as does romance with just the right guy for each girl.

Corrina, Corrina (1994)

Corrina stars Whoopi Goldberg as a maid hired to tend to the daughter of a grieving man (Ray Liotta) whose wife has just died suddenly. Tina Majorino plays the daughter, who is so overwhelmed by the loss of her mother that she stops speaking. After a time both daughter and father bond with the new woman in their lives, a situation complicated by racism in this 1950′s setting.

Crimes Of The Heart (1986)

A funny, poignant drama about three southern sisters who are drawn together again after the youngest attempts to murder her abusive husband.

Enchanted April (1991)

A charming tale of four women who find Romance, hope and, ultimately, liberation during a month’s holiday in an Italian villa overlooking the sea.

Entre Nous (1983)

This critically acclaimed French drama on her mother’s long-lasting friendship with a woman that was so strong, it became threatening to their ineffectual husbands.

First Wives Club (1996)

Middle-aged men should think twice about dumping their wives for younger women–especially if the women take Ivana Trump’s advice, “don’t get mad, get everything.” Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn and Diane Keaton play friends since college who join forces to get hilarious revenge on their respective exes.

My Best Friends Wedding (1997)

Shy Julianne Potter, who suddenly realises she’s in love with her best friend Michael. There’s just one catch&he’s about to marry someone else. Now she has to win him back, And with just 4 days, the help of resourceful boss and the benefits of an extremely devious mind, Julianne will do anything to get her man.. except tell him the honest truth!

Frat Daze (2000)

Frat Daze is a shocking tell-all feature length movie about friends that possess a burning desire to pledge a glorified fraternity, all inspired by actual events! This movie has been seen and enjoyed by college students all over. Now on home video, everybody (many more students, parents, and curiosity seekers) will get a true and very rare glance into the private world of Fraternity Pledging and Hazing. Secrets Exposed!

Scent Of A Woman (1992)

Hoping to earn some extra money, a relatively underprivileged prep school student agrees to look after a cantankerous, blind, retired lieutenant Colonel during his holiday. Thrown off guard by his charge’s bullying style, the student’s in for even more surprises when the two take off for a wild weekend in New York City.

Rain Man (1988)

After their father dies, a smooth-talking businessman is reunited with his autistic older brother to whose caretakers his father left a fortune. Needing the money himself, he kidnaps him for a rocky cross-country drive only to discover the void his brother had filled in his empty childhood.

Shot Through The Heart (2000)

A heartrending movie, based on a true story about a pair of best friends in the former Yugoslav nation, who are torn by the inevitable circumstances of war. The bond between the two life long friends illustrates the depth of the friendship, and how emotionally unbearable life is when having to make the choice between best friend and nation.

Toy Story & Toy Story 2 (1995, 2000)

Woody is Andy’s favourite toy, an old cowboy doll with a head full of stuffing and a heart of gold. But one fateful birthday sees the arrival of Buzz Lightyear, Space Ranger and potential rival for the hallowed position of Favourite Toy. Both movies tell simple, yet powerfully real tales. Expressed with extraordinary care and skill in animation, the films capture the importance and fragility of true friendship with eye-popping visuals, spirited laughs and lovable characters.

This article is about “Mind uo, goldie hawn”, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “Mind uo, goldie hawn”:

Break-ups are tough for everyone, even for movie stars. Lucky for the single folk, romance has proven itself a great topic and plot for movies of all times. The following films range from comedic to dramatic, all while keeping in mind the relevance to its favored viewer-the newly single.

War of the Roses

“Once in a lifetime comes a motion picture that makes you feel like falling in love all over again. This is not that movie.” The tagline says it all about this 1989 comedy starring Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner, and Danny DeVito. In this thriller, a married couple tries everything to get each other out of the house in a dirty divorce.

High Fidelity

This film’s got it all: comedy, drama, music, and romance. With a cast of John Cusack, Iben Hjejle, Todd Louiso, and Jack Black, the group tells a story of a record store owner as he looks back on his “top 5″ breakups.

First Wives Club

This movie was made for the ladies. Comedy ensues when three divorced women, played by Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn, and Diane Keaton, plot payback on thee husbands who left them for younger women.

How Stella Got Her Groove Back

Starring Angela Bassett, Taye Diggs, and Whoopi Goldberg, this dramatic romance lives up to its tagline, “Sometimes you have to break the rules to free your heart.” While the morality of this film may have been forgotten, viewers can drool over the Jamaican Island scenes and Diggs, of course.

Bridget Jones Diary

Renee Zellweger tells the story of many single women in this romantic comedy while she searches for love in a year in which she keeps a personal diary.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

This movie is more dramatic than romantic, but above all, it’s unique. Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet star as a couple who undergo a procedure to erase each other from their memories after they breakup. An interesting twist occurs in the lessons they remember.

Under the Tuscan Sun

While on vacation, a newly divorced writer buys a Tuscan village in hopes it will be the start of a change for a better life. Diane Lane and Sandra Oh star in this comedic, dramatic romance which was nominated for a Golden Globe.

The Way We Were

This 70s dramatic romance starring Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford tells the tale of two lovers involved in a wonderful romance but their political views drive them apart.

Casablanca

This infamous 40s film starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman deals with a “date with fate.” Set in the early days of World War II, an American expatriate meets an old flame, which brings forth complications.

Pride and Prejudice

Based on a novel by Jane Austen, this dramatic comedy is based around the coveted wedding day. When the Bennets try to find suitable husbands for their five single daughters, pride and prejudice complicate the relationships.

The Break-up

After a break-up between a Chicago couple played by Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn, the real feud begins when they try to decide who will keep their condo. Comedy ensues when each side attempts to force the other out.

Hopefully a few of these films perked your interest and can sit well you’re your next helping of Ben and Jerry’s. While these movies can help mend a broken heart for the short-term, they are just a start. After all, surely you have a set of comforting films to watch when you need a pick-me-up.

This article is about “Cognitive labs games”, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “Cognitive labs games”:

Interested in improving your attention, memory, thinking skills, ability to manage stressful situations? Good news: “Recent research in neuroplasticity – the brain’s ability to change in response to information and new activities – shows that brain cells and new pathways continue to develop throughout life…”, say mainstream newspapers like the New York Times, who are increasing their coverage on the growing movement of “brain training” games and technologies.

An article titled “Mind Over Matter, With a Machine’s Help” provides a great overview on how to combine cognitive therapy with fMRI (an advanced neuroimaging technique that enables movie-like visual feedback on what areas of the brain are getting activated). Another article, titled “Calisthenics for the Older Mind, on the Home Computer”, reviews a number of commercial software packages.

I have interviewed 10 neuroscientists and experts in cognitive and emotional training to better understand the research behind this field and the implications for our lives. Let me share with you some of my favorite quotes:

1) “Learning is physical. Learning means the modification, growth, and pruning of our neurons, connections-called synapses- and neuronal networks, through experience…we are cultivating our own neuronal networks.”- Dr. James Zull, Professor of Biology and Biochemistry at Case Western University.

2) “Exercising our brains systematically ways is as important as exercising our bodies. In my experience, “Use it or lose it” should really be “Use it and get more of it”.- Dr. Elkhonon Goldberg, neuropsychologist, clinical professor of neurology at New York University School of Medicine, and disciple of the great neuropsychologist Alexander Luria.

3) “Individuals who lead mentally stimulating lives, through education, occupation and leisure activities, have reduced risk of developing Alzheimer’s symptoms. Studies suggest that they have 35-40% less risk of manifesting the disease”- Dr. Yaakov Stern, Division Leader of the Cognitive Neuroscience Division of the Sergievsky Center at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University, New York.

4) “What research has shown is that cognition, or what we call thinking and performance, is really a set of skills that we can train systematically.” – Dr. Daniel Gopher, Professor of Cognitive Psychology and Human Factors Engineering at Technion Institute of Science.

5) “Elite performers are distinguished by the structuring of their learning process…You need to protect and optimize that practice, learning time… It is important to understand the role of emotions: they are not “bad”. They are very useful signals. It is important to become aware of them to avoid being engulfed by them, and learn how to manage them.” – Dr. Brett Steenbarger, Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, SUNY Medical University, and author of Enhancing Trader Performance.

6) “We have shown that working memory can be improved by training” – Dr. Torkel Klingberg, Professor at Karolinska Institute, and Director of the Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Lab, part of the Stockholm Brain Institute.

7) “I don’t see that schools are applying the best knowledge of how minds work. Schools should be the best place for applied neuroscience, taking the latest advances in cognitive research and applying it to the job of educating minds.” – Dr. Arthur Lavin, Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Case Western School of Medicine, pediatrician in private practice.

If you are interested in learning more about this exciting field of “brain fitness” and “brain exercise”, please keep tuned. Over the next weeks we will publish new interviews with:

- Dr. Judith S. Beck, Director of the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy and Research, and author of The Beck Diet Solution: Train Your Brain to Think Like a Thin Person.

- Dr. Robert Sylwester, Emeritus Professor of Education at the University of Oregon. His most recent book is The Adolescent Brain: Reaching for Autonomy. The Education Press Association of America has given him two Distinguished Achievement Awards for his syntheses of cognitive science research.

Now you know: Nutrition, Physical Exercise and Stress Management are very important to your brain health and fitness, but you can also exercise and improve your “Mental Muscles”!

This article is about “Mind up goldie hawn website”, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “Mind up goldie hawn website”:

I had a most amazing night last night on my computer.

It was filled with insights after I watched clip after clip, of celebrities toasting the wonder of a great woman actress – Meryl Streep. She was given a lifetime award for acting, and the clips onscreen showed the heartfelt expressions of love from other celebrities – Shirley MacLaine, Diane Keaton, Jack Nicholson, Kurt Douglas, Goldie Hawn, Nora Ephron, Robert DeNiro – showering their gratitude on Meryl Streep.

As I watched the exchange of love going back and forth, between Meryl and each celebrity onstage, I got caught up in the feeling of being Meryl Streep.

What would it feel like to BE Meryl Streep? I clicked on other video clips. Meryl being totally natural with a bronchial infection, coughing, laughing and joking with David Letterman. Meryl on the Ellen DeGeneres show, putting on a funny hat and improvising different accents with Ellen, just for fun. And of course, there was Meryl being interviewed about playing Julia Child, with her candid comments that she isn’t really a dedicated cook.

So – what did I get from this feeling of BEING? It felt totally wonderful, exhilarating and delightful. Feeling the spirit of Meryl is to feel totally in the present, loving, giving and enjoying life.

Goldie Hawn compared Meryl to a Stradivarius violin, with each string of her life resonating so beautifully… blending family and career harmoniously. Jack Nicholson said she was “perfect.” Kurt Douglas said that whoever had the privilege to work with Meryl would just have to fall in love with her.

Why is that? Because Meryl expresses love and gratitude so easily to those around her. It’s natural. Contagious. You pick it up and you are uplifted. You are more than you were before. (And the celebrities mentioned that too!) But I FELT it last night.

Naturally, there is only one Meryl Streep. But we can all be the best US.

Just think how it could be if we chose to act with love and gratitude in every situation. Even the tough ones. Each action we take has a reaction. In Meryl’s case, I was watching the reactions of love coming back at Meryl. It made me think – what actions have I taken in my life? What steps can I take to create the outcomes that I desire? What limiting core beliefs do I need to recognize to achieve my full potential?

It all started with a seemingly random google search to look up video clips on an actress I’ve always admired – Meryl Streep. And I got back so much more than I expected.

As Mike Nichols said, “Meryl’s got to be one of those phenomena, like Garbo, that happens once in a generation.” You’ve taught me more by watching you as yourself than in all the great film roles you’ve created. I join all the others in toasting you. With Love & Gratitude!

This article is about “Mind games guys play”, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “Mind games guys play”:

For a long period of time mind games have been the cause of argument and disagreement between women and men. While both sides blame each other one should remember that there are two sides to a coin. It is true that both women and mane like to play mind games with each other but when it comes to blaming, they invariably and without fail blame each other.

Nobody cares to see that they to are the accused ones whilst they are pointing their fingers at somebody else. So why do men play mind games with the women they love? Here are the top 3 reasons:

Emotional Insecurity

Men play mind games with the women they love because they feel emotionally insecure. There are other reasons too. Many a times these games are played by people who are not mature enough. However a woman should be careful if her man is playing mind games with her. Many women have committed the mistake of breaking a steady relationship just because of this. If you are having a steady relationship with your man and find him playing mind games with you, do not even contemplate of breaking the relationship instantaneously.

It is better that you discuss with your partner and give him a second opportunity. Chances are that these problems will resolve. However if they do not, it’s high time to break the relationship. So do not go ahead and do something drastic with your relationship unless you are sure and once you see that it has reached a point of no return, you’re better off in breaking the same.

Mind Games and Why

Men play mind games with women for various reasons. While some of them play these games just to tease their partner, others play these games to prove their superiority. In the latter case it is due to a false and inflated ego. The expectations are too much. While they do not accept your calls while they are busy, they expect you to take their calls even if you are busy.

Their logic is that their partner should be free to receive calls when they are free to make one. Most of the times the men simply lie and women hate liars. Little things like this play a large part in breaking a steady relationship.

Dishonesty

This is one of the worst mind games that men play with the women they love. Ask them about their previous relationships and they will keep beating around the bush. They will never provide a straight and honest answer. Ask him about where the relationship between you and him is heading and chances are that even this question will be either disregarded or bypassed.

As mentioned earlier, men play these games just for the heck of it and this might not be perceived so casually by the woman. If a man plays these mind games with you as an opportunity to sleep with you he is a born looser and the faster you ditch him off, the better.

By the way, did you know that so many women make their own lives and relationships harder than they need to be by not learning the basic foundations of how men view love, connection, attraction and relationships?

So, If you want to start getting better outcomes and results when it comes to men, and you want to be able to communicate with a man in a way that brings him closer.

Then you’re going to have START doing what it is that makes a man FEEL ATTRACTED and MORE INTERESTED in you. It means that you need to Learn Secrets That Most Women Will Never Know About Meeting And Keeping Great Men!

Make this the year you finally know what it’s like to have a fun, loving and secure relationship by discovering how to find the right man and make love last.

This article is about “Mind games hawthorn”, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “Mind games hawthorn”:

As in all of Hawthorne’s writings when one finishes reading his stories you come up with more questions than answers. No other writer makes you question like Hawthorne. The philosophical question of what is true perfection and can it be achieved through physical means or is it a state of the spirit is the heart of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s story The Birth-Mark.

Aylmer, the main character of the story is a brilliant scientist/alchemist. He posses a belief in “man’s ultimate control over nature”, and thinks there is nothing man can’t master or achieve. His obsession with his wife’s small imperfect birth mark, which resembles a hand, begins shortly after they become married. Aylmer is fixated with his wife Georgiana’s perfection; he believes that in order for him to experience perfect love, he must have a perfect woman to love. His obsession gradually becomes Georgiana’s obsession at which point she becomes so distraught that she tells Aylmer “Remove this dreadful hand, or take my wretched life”. Aylmer sits down and tells his wife that there may be risk involved but he is confident that he shall remove the mark and his beautiful bride will be perfect in every way. He sets up comfortable surroundings for his wife described as “beautiful apartments, not unfit to be the secluded abode of a lovely woman”. After the alchemist attempts and fails numerous methods for removing the mark from his wife he develops a “perfect elixir” that will without a doubt cure her and make her completely perfect. He administers this elixir and to his great delight sees the cursed hand start to fade and disappear; only to have his wife tell him “Aylmer-dearest Aylmer-I am dying!”

Georgiana achieved perfection in Aylmer’s eyes in her dying moments; so did he Aylmer achieve what he set out to accomplish? I believe he did. Aylmer was a man who loved his work; he loved science more than he could ever love any human being. He was a man riddled with his inadequacies and imperfections, and as a result of his low view of himself, he demanded perfection in his wife. This is exhibited when Georgiana is reading out of his ledger which is described as a “sad confession, and continual exemplification, of the short-comings of the composite man”. Aylmer was a self serving individual whose only goal is to make his wife perfect for his own sake or perhaps for science’s sake. All these things being true; I do believe he loved Georgiana, and in his own bizarre way he wanted her to be perfect for her sake, because he believed that she deserved no less. In his quest for her perfection (which is impossible in the purely material sense) he destroyed her.

Aylmer’s wife Georgiana was at first a happy woman; married to someone she believed to be a great man, until one day her husband tells her that the mark upon her cheek might be removed. This of course is the beginning of her as well as her husband’s obsession with removing her one imperfection. The first thing that stuck out in my mind about Georgiana was her undying love, loyalty and desire to please her husband. This was very much a mark of the time. The fact that she would rather die than meet his disapproval I found significant. She seemed to me, to be the ultimate exemplification of love and unselfishness, to an insane level, which is exhibited in the line “You have aimed loftily! – You have done nobly! Do not repent, that, with so high and pure a feeling, you have rejected the best earth could offer.” Georgiana does not feel ill towards her husband because she believes his feelings to be those of pure love.

The Birthmark touches on similar themes as Marry Shelly’s Frankenstein in the idea that humans can possess a supernatural power to undo and make perfect what is imperfect. Aylmer does not believe in God or the natural laws he created, which is obvious by his belief in man’s ultimate control over nature. God created man as a part of nature and we are not above nature but integrated with it. Just as today we are fighting the ethical issues of an increased understanding of science versus what we know to be natural law. Hawthorne’s story The Birth Mark is just as relevant today as it was when written in 1843 if not more so. Today we are struggling with issues such as cloning, stem cell research and other aspects of science that seem in contradiction with God’s and nature’s laws. If confronted with the modern day issues we now face Hawthorne’s opinions would probably be the same as he has set forth in this short story; that when man tries to accomplish what he was not intended to accomplish disaster will be the ultimate result. The hand was not only a birthmark but an integral part of Georgiana’s soul, and removing this mark in the quest for perfection was her demise.

Hawthorne is telling us that humanity is imperfect, there is no perfection in the physical sense, and the only way to achieve perfection is through the spirit in death. The Christian parallel is clear here; none of us are perfect and the only way to become perfect is to become one with God, in death, which results in our going to heaven. This goes back to what makes us who we are; we are not pure flesh and blood, our psyches and our true selves go so much further beyond that.

Nathaniel Hawthorne’s short story The Birth Mark touches on philosophical and ethical issues valid in his time, as well as ours. His work makes us think about what is perfection and is it desirable in the physical state. In the end we discover that if we overstep our bounds and try to make perfect that which is imperfect, death will be the final result, for only in death through God, can we achieve perfection.

Most guys come across girls at least once in their lives who have played with their minds for no better reason than that they could. In a lot of these cases, guys end up feeling totally lost and confused without knowing what to do.

Are you one of these guys? Do you want to get total revenge? Well, you can, and it’s quite simple to do, too. You simply have to learn the reasons behind these female mind games and how girls end up playing them. Keep reading for the ultimate secrets to use in turning things around and making girls beg for your time instead.

How To Battle The Mind Games That Girls Play On Guys – Revenge Is Sweet

1. “The Game Of Utter Disrespect”. Within no time at all, girls will begin to misbehave in your relationship by asking you questions and seeming incredibly disrespectful towards you. Usually, this occurs after girls get highly comfortable around the guy they are with. If this happens to be your main problem, you can get past it with ease. If your girl stays rude and misbehaves a lot, simply threaten to leave her and remember to sound serious as you do so.

If you cannot deliver your threat in a serious tone, you will simply seem hollow and incongruous and she will keep acting the way she has been acting since you clearly did not mean what you said.

2. “The Game Of Complete Jealousy”. The most common game in female books of mind games would be the one on jealousy. There are various ways in which girls can use this particular mind game, one way of which would be through innocence. A girl can do this by comparing you to other guys you might know and telling you how different you are from them in a bad way. Usually, girls do this so that their guy will put in more effort in their relationship and do things that she wants to get done.

So now you know the top 2 games that girls like to play on guys – what now? Well, now you can finally fight back. Give her a dose of the same thing through a discreet weapon known as hypnosis. Morality aside, hypnosis happens to be an incredibly powerful technique you can use to make a girl utterly compliant to all of your wishes.

This article is about “Mind up goldie hawn”, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “Mind up goldie hawn”:
