Men these days are starting to realize that being well groomed leads to more opportunities, such as finding a partner. Being well groomed gives the perception of cleanliness, confidence and overall improves self-esteem. This is particularly evident in body hair and even more specifically back hair. But being able to remove back hair can be tricky as it is hard to do by your self. Traditional methods such as shaving and waxing have the potential to cause severe skin irritation and pain.

Not only can waxing and shaving cause you grief they can also become very expensive. A waxing session can start from least to $45. Probably the best way to remove back hair is by using a back hair removal cream But being able to find the cream that is reputable and simply does what it says, that it is going to remove hair can be hard. Fortunately Revitol have developed a hair removal cream that can be used on even the most sensitive parts of the body. Revitol cream really does come into its own when it is used as a back hair removal cream.

The cream is formulated to be pain-free, and to be able to be applied with precision and easily. Revitol cream has been subjected to numerous tests to see how the cream performs. The dermatologists concluded from the tests that Revitol’s hair removal cream is the number one hair removal cream on the market.

This article is about “Keratosis pilaris”, we hope to bring more articles about “Keratosis pilaris” in the near future:

Are there any keratosis pilaris treatment products that actually work? I myself know how difficult it is to treat KP. After months of treatment using a range of keratosis pilaris lotion and skin care products, the condition seems to vanish for awhile, only to come back the next month once you finish performing the vital steps to have clear skin. This is the difficulty with this condition as you will always have to keep up with your daily skin care routine in order for your skin to constantly be smooth and clear. You will have to suffer through this skin disorder all your life, but you do not have to live with the unattractive skin.

Exfoliation and moisturizing are key ingredients in keeping your skin clear and supple. Also, besides exfoliating and moisturizing, make sure that you are not picking at your skin as this will increase the ugly looking scars left by damaged hair follicles. As the seasons become more harsh and the weather starts to become colder, it is vital that you are hydrating your skin from the inside and outside. This means that you will need to apply more lotions, instead of putting on lotion once a day, try to put it on three time a day.

Drinking lots of water will also hydrate your skin from the inside and you will need to make sure to drink at least 100 ounce of water per day to ensure that you stay hydrated. All of these things will reduce the dry and scaly skin that you will have from KP.

This article is about “Painless vellus hair removal IPL OR hair reduction”, we hope to bring more articles about “Painless vellus hair removal IPL OR hair reduction” in the near future:

While we are now quite yet into spring, it is but just a month or so away. With the onset of spring, many people will be thinking about getting ready for the summer. Particularly for the younger age groups, outside activities with greater exposure of body parts is high on their minds. As part of some get ready lists, removing unwanted body and facial hair works its way up that list. With the now standard method of laser hair removal widely available, many will seek out these treatments.

While laser hair removal is a good treatment method for many, the marketing and advertising claims frequently do not give an accurate reflection of the facts and the science behind it.

Laser hair removal should be best thought of as a hair reduction method. While some patients do get a high percentage of permanent hair reduction, the concept of permanent and complete elimination of hair is false. The biology of hair growth and the way the laser light works makes this very difficult to achieve. When laser hair removal first came onto the scene in the early 2000s, this was naively widely touted. We now know better. If you can live with 50% to 90% reduction in hair, then laser hair removal may be for you.

Not all hair responds well to the laser. Like a black colored car that attracts sunlight and gets very hot, it is all about driving heat down to the growing hair bulb. For this reason, dark colored hair with fair colored skin always works the best. Blonde, gray, white, and red colored hair is not reduced as much because it is a ‘poor’ target. Expect less hair reduction if this is your hair color. Conversely, dark colored skin picks off some of the laser light before it can get to the hair bulb. (which actually is below the skin) Because higher energies of laser light is needed to get past the pigment in the skin, there is a slightly higher risk of skin burns and irritation.

Laser hair reduction requires a series of treatments to be effective. Because the laser will only knock out hairs in an area that are actually growing (less than 10% of your hair in any area is actually active at any one time), a series of treatments over time is needed. A general rule is that it will take 5 or 6 treatments over a 6 month period to get the best result. So while spring may bring hair removal to mind, you ideally should have started last fall!

Lair hair treatments are not painless…no matter what the advertisements say. The laser light is a hot treatment and it is not like having a massage or manicure. If your laser treatment is or was painless, I can also guarantee you that it will not work. While todays lasers have chilled methods to cool the skin during treatment, topical anesthetics are still necessary. For this reason, a laser hair appointment may require an hour or so with the first half being the application of a numbing cream and then time to let it work.

Long-term maintenance treatments may be needed in many cases. Hair that was initially suppressed by laser treatments can get activated later in life with hormonal changes or medications that one may be taking. While this seems to be contradictary to the way most people think lasers on hair works (frying the hair bulb so that it is ‘killed’), the reality is that the laser changes the hair growth cycle and teaches it to grow differently. Often times, it changes a thick dark hair to a fine and clear vellus hair. But certain changes in life can reactivate its original growth cycle making you see hair ‘coming back’.

Laser hair treatment is commonly done for both women and men. (men and back hair make up about half of the patients that we see) While it can be very effective for the right person, proper knowledge and education will determine if laser hair treatments are a good or better value over traditional waxing methods.

This article is about “How to treat my burning face from hair removalcream”, we hope to bring more articles about “How to treat my burning face from hair removalcream” in the near future:

Laser and IPL hair removal are the most common laser and photomedicine procedures done in the United States. None of us like to be too hairy, I guess it reminds us too graphically of our friends in the animal world! Especially women do not like dark excess hair on the face, legs, bikini line and under arm, especially women in the US and Asia. I assume, dark facial hair makes a young woman feel less feminine. This is a cultural phenomenon, as many cultures do not have this obsession.

Laser and light based hair removal has improved dramatically in the past 5 years. Early lasers were not fully effective and were so powerful that burns and scars were a possibility. In addition, early lasers could not be used on dark skin and were effective at removing only very dark black hair. Newer IPL and some lasers are a vast improvement and can be used on darker skin and can also remove lighter colored hair. The newer IPL machines are less painful and there is less chance of burning and skin scarring.

The best earliest laser for hair removal was the Lightshear Diode invented by Palomar Medical. Palomar subsequently developed the IPL hair removal method to be able to treat darker skin types and remove lighter colored hair. The advantages of the new IPL method became clear when they sold their rights to the Lightshear Diode to Lumenis to pursue what they felt was a superior IPL removal method.

These machines are sophisticated medical grade instruments that should only be used under the supervision of a physician. While the popularity of this procedure has resulted in light based laser and IPL treatments being offered in Salons and Spas without a doctor present, new legislative action will soon limit most of these devices to a physician supervised office. I recommend that you stay ahead of the curve and receive the safest most effective treatments in a board certified plastic surgeons or dermatologists office. Your safety should be your first concern.

How Does IPL or Laser Remove Hair?

All light based therapies which include laser and IPL, also called Photomedicine techniques, work on the same principle. This principle is that a specific color of light can be directed to be absorbed or taken up by one specific color of tissue on the skin. Light is energy, and energy can produce heat. When light energy, the IPL or Laser beam, is absorbed by a specific colored tissue on the skin, the tissue is heated, injured, and is removed. The follicles are black or brown, thus a black or brown laser or IPL light is flashed on the skin that contains the follicle, the follicle absorbs the light energy, is heated, damaged, and the follicle shrinks and loses color. The new smaller follicle is then able to grow only fine light colored peach fuss after treatment.

This light based technique is called target specific photothermolysis-a specifically colored target receives color matched light energy (photo), is heated (thermo) and damaged or dissolved (lysis).

The color of light used is very important because follicle color is different for different colors of hair. Thus the same color light will not remove all colors. Most commonly an 800nm laser wavelength (Lightshear Diode) has been used, however the newer Intense pulsed light based systems can quickly treat in a range of 525-1200nm (Palomar LuxRed and LuxYellow) to treat a wider variety of colors.

These machines do not really remove the follicle. Rather they damage and shrink the follicle so that new growth is small, thin, blond peach fuzz. The follicles can only be damaged during one of three growth phases. Only 1/3 of the follicles in any area are susceptible at any one time, so at least three treatments separated by 6 weeks are necessary to achieve the best result.

When Will I See A Result?

Soon after your first treatment the hair falls out and your skin will be smooth and bare. However in 6 weeks 2/3 of the follicles will re-sprout new growth. It will take at least two more sessions to catch the follicles in a susceptible phase to complete the removal processes. Very heavy thick growth may require touch ups even after the first three sessions.

What Areas Can Be Treated?

Almost any body area can be treated. The most common are:

In Women:

?	Upper lip

?	Chin

?	Under arm

?	Legs

?	Bikini line

?	Cheeks

?	Arms

?	Back

In Men:

?	Back

?	Chest

?	Neck

?	Beard

Special Treatments for Medical Conditions

There are two very painful medical conditions that can be treated with these light based techniques.

Ingrown follicular shafts and razor bumps, called pseudofolliculitis barbae, is a painful condition affecting millions of African American men. These new light based techniques can provide dramatic effective relief for these conditions.

Pilonidal cysts, a very painful recurring infectious draining condition affecting the sacrum or tail bone area is caused by abnormal follicular and sebaceous cell growth in this area. These new light based techniques can significantly help this painful debilitating condition.

Where Should I go For Treatment?

As I mentioned earlier , Intense Pulsed Light and light based therapies are very sophisticated medical technologies. While they can achieve remarkable results, success is very dependent upon the skill with which they are used. Furthermore, protective eyewear is essential, as powerful light beams can damage the unprotected eye. In addition, these machines work by using controlled heat applied to the skin, and heat can create a burn or scarring if not applied properly.

Photomedicine is a very complex field and the doctor must understand light physics and light tissue reaction of the skin. It truly takes years of study and experience to understand how to properly use light based therapies.

Too often these technologies are perceived as push button devices that anyone can safely use. That could not be further from the truth.

Currently only the residency training programs in Plastic Surgery and Dermatology provide formalized training and testing for board certification in these fields which apply light therapies and Intense Pulsed Light to the skin. I recommend that you seek consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist before having any light based therapy. Not all plastic surgeons and dermatologists are experienced in these techniques, so you will have to search their websites and ask appropriate questions.

Please avoid salons and spas, in my opinion they should not be using these techniques without direct medical supervision, and many state legislatures agree with this concept and are taking action.

Who Should Do My Treatment?

A well trained and experienced medical aesthetician, nurse, PA or Nurse Practitioner who works with and is supervised by a board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist who is trained in Photomedicine, can safely provide these treatments.

The best practitioners agree with this concept and would not try to practice Photomedicine in any location other than a medical office where the doctor supervision is on site. If there is a problem it is very important that the doctor be present and not supervising from an office 10 miles away.

More importantly, in my opinion, is the knowledge and experience of the doctor in diagnosing your particular skin condition and deciding which of the many light based treatments will work best for you. In addition, often prescription medications and other treatments are required for you to achieve the best result, and a doctor will be able to provide you with these added benefits.

Do your homework, start on the Internet. Read enough to become knowledgeable about Photomedicine and how these techniques work and what they can achieve. Then seek consultation with 2 board certified plastic surgeons or dermatologists and decide who you are most comfortable with. This is your best chance for a safe effective result.

Women only preferred hair removal creams – but that was before some years! These days, even the men are interested in these creams. Needless to state, but the market is booming with many products that are known to accomplish the same – remove hairs from the body. People blindly follow suit and invest on one of these without looking into the complications that might arise at a later date. Some of them along with the functioning of these creams are listed in the passages! Like every other medical supplement out there (yes, hair removal creams can be classified into that niche), when used with care and caution, the positive aspects can be realized.

The nature of the cream is the first factor to be harbored in mind. By nature, I mean the following – creams that aid in shedding the hair from the body and products that aid in imparting a feeling that the hair is removed. Readers might be confused regarding the second paradigm. These creams are noted to act on the coloring of the hair. When the color of the hair is absent, no one will realize the presence of hairs. Simple, yet very effective if you ask me.

Always check the ingredients that are employed on the hair removal cream. Some products might be manufactured using synthetic compounds, while some might be manufactured using natural ingredients. The synthetic products are highly effective – they might be too effective for some people. This will result in burning of the skin. On the other hand, the products that are derived from the natural ingredients do not have any such side-effects! Basically, all these principles boil down to personal preference, but I would strongly suggest experimenting with various products before committing to a certain hair removal cream!

Instructions (for usage) will be outlined on the product package. These instructions are provided for a reason. It is imperative that you must read and analyze the aspects that are listed. Stick to those guidelines and you will be in the safe zone. Deviate from it and you are unnecessarily inviting troubles. There is a certain time frame between each application of the product. Always stick to that time frame, which can be as high as 72 hours or even lower (48 hours). Test for sensitivity, by applying a small amount of the same on the surface of the inner hands.

If allergic reactions are noticed, skip the product for something else. Do not worry for the options are in plenty. At least one will be able to bid goodbye to those days when hair waxes and other pain inducing procedures were the norm. These creams ensure that you do not realize any sort of pains – while applying or after applying! Paste the cream uniformly over the surface of the skin. The hair cells are very sensitive to these products. Read the reviews to establish a good insight about the best hair removing creams out there. Do keep us posted, by the way!
