This article is about “Night sweats flu”, we hope to bring more articles about “Night sweats flu” in the near future:

The first notice as painless enlarged lymph nodes (adenopathy or lymphadenopathy) is lymphoma. Generally enlarged lymph nodes do not mean lymphoma. The diagnosis of lymphoma can be determined or excluded by a biopsy and subsequent pathology evaluations of the tissue.

Depending on the type of lymphoma and where the lymphoma is actively growing symptoms can vary. Symptoms like anemia (low red blood cells count) the bone marrow dysfunction are not so common but are present in later stages of the disease and also as side effect of some treatments. MALT lymphomas may present as an upset stomach or an enlarged lymph node can cause a change in bowel movement.

It can be difficult to identify the meaning of a symptom because some of these may be common to certain stages of lymphoma and to specific treatments. Other medical conditions and illnesses that are unrelated to lymphoma like flu or an ulcer can be developed. There are other informations that doctor must know when he is informed about a symptom like: the intensity, the size and appearance, when it started, how long it has lasted, if it waxes and wanes, the medications and supplements used and the beginning of uses them, how the symptom might change when position is changed, association of the symptom with meals or specific foods, the time of day the symptom might be most intense.

These and other details help the doctor to identify the possible cause or causes, or if further tests are warranted. The common symptoms that appear are unexplained and persistent: anemia, appetite loss, fatigue, fever, flu-like symptoms – aches, fever, chills, infections associated with low white count, night sweats – drenching, pain; itchy skin (purititis), red patches; jaundice – yellowish tinge (related to liver function), swollen and painless lymph nodes, swollen spleen or liver, thrombocytopenia and weight loss.

B-symptoms are common and a onset of them may suggest that the lymphoma is progressing. Also b-symptoms present unexplained and persistent: fever and chills, drenching night sweats, fatigue, pruritus and weight loss. Other symptoms are flu-like symptoms like aches and pains, localized pain that may occur depending on the location of tumors, and frequent infections resulting from depressed immunity.

The diagnosis of lymphoma (which requires a biopsy) is often delayed because b-symptoms are common to both minor and serious medical conditions. Fever, night sweats, weight loss in excess of 10%, or asthenia, called systemic symptoms are infrequent at presentation of the disease but can be observed in later stages. If a patient develops systemic symptoms the progression to an intermediate-grade or high-grade lymphoma should be considered. To monitor progression monitoring blood for increasing levels of LDH and Human beta-2 microglobulin is used.

If a person present some of these symptoms a doctor should be consult for a proper treatment.

This article is about “Gatric Flu when pregnant”, we hope to bring more articles about “Gatric Flu when pregnant” in the near future:

Today millions of people are suffering from gastric acid reflux disease in the USA alone. We all should be well informed about this disease so that we can be prepared to help someone we know who might have caught this disease; and also for our own sake.

It does not matter if the subject in case is suffering from the usual symptoms of the gastro acid reflux disease or, in case, it is the chronic version of the diseases; there are some general points which one should always bear in mind.

What are the causes of this disorder?

While dealing with the gastric acid influx disease one of the most important things one should know is the fact that why does this situation arises. This is essential so that after that it has been diagnosed that you have been suffering from this disease, you can deal with this problem from the grass root level.

There are not a very large number of possible causes for this disease. This is completely normal during pregnancy, but only if you have never had it before. So if you had previous history of this disease and if you face some symptoms during pregnancy then you should immediately consult a doctor. However, let it be known. Ninety percent of pregnant women face this problem, at some or the other point of time during nine months.

Treatment of Acid Reflux Disease

After that we conclude the potential reason behind your particular case, you can begin with treating this problem in an effective manner, so that it gets uprooted and you would not have to face it again. The common way is to consult a physician and start taking some medicines. These medicines help to treat the symptoms effectively and provide you some relief by keeping a check on it.

However, it is not compulsory to take any particular medication. There are so many of other medicines available out there today which you can try. Though, one should remember that with every medicine there are some side effects which you would have to face. Sooner than later you will observe that these side effects fade away gradually.

One can always deal with the gastric acid reflux disease in an effective manner, that is to say, if the disease has not reached a very bad stage. If you remain aware of yourself and employ proper measures to tackle this problem, you will get well soon.

Remember things will not improve while you just sit back and watch. You will have to get up and take responsibility, if you want to live as you used to do in the past.

This article is about “Glaxo SmithKline”, we hope to bring more articles about “Glaxo SmithKline” in the near future:

“But Are All The New Swine Flu Vaccines Safe”?

In the last week swine flu cases in the UK have almost doubled. A lot of this is down to the fact that children have returned to school and already 66 schools have been hit by the virus since returning after the summer break.

The infections, which were, originally around 5000 have suddenly soared to 9000 according to figures released by the Department of Health in the UK. Sir Liam Donaldson who is the U.K.’s Chief Medical Officer has said that although this number is still relatively low it is the sign that a second wave of the pandemic is on the way.

Pupils at schools throughout the UK are being shown how important it is that they wash their hands and use tissues if they have a cold or a cough or are sneezing. Once used the tissues should be thrown away. He has said that the reason why children must fully understand this is because it has been shown that this dramatically cuts the risk of infection.

At present the two vaccines which have been approved for use in the UK appear to be causing concern regarding the fact that members of the public are worrying that suitable tests may not have been done to guarantee their safety using these drugs. The two vaccines are Pandemrix and Focentria. The first is made by a British company GlaxoSmithKline and the second by the Swiss company Novartis. Glaxo SmithKline is supplying the UK vaccines.

The European Medicines Agency who are the regulatory authority have also mentioned Baxter who also have a vaccine which there are hoping to approve next week.

You may by now be wondering what it means when we say that a drug has been licensed. What this means is that the European medicines agency have firstly satisfied themselves that the drug in question is safe and secondly that it is effective for the purpose for which it is meant. The agency will not get involved in discussing which of the vaccines may be better than the other. Even though these two vaccines have been approved at present it still has to be agreed by the European Commission but this is generally a rubber stamp job and is expected to be agreed next week.

What worries a lot of people is the fact that these new vaccines have been fast tracked through the system. The reason for this is that medical authorities want urgently to get them to high-risk patients prior to the big surge in swine flu cases which is expected this winter. What actually happens is that the manufacturers of these drugs submit a mockup of the vaccine to the World Health Organization and their experts will have been already working to identify the exact strain which has been causing the swine flu. Once this strain has been recognized they will then be slotted into the model.

Because it appears to have been rushed through this is the bit that seems to worry the general public but the European Medicines Agency have said that they do not think that a new strain added into the old model will firstly effect the safety of the vaccine or its efficiency. They have however requested the manufacturers of the vaccines to run extra trials. These trials will involve 9000 people per vaccine to ensure that no problems are thrown up.

In case you are wondering when these vaccines will be available to patients in the UK the Chief Medical Officer has always indicated that this will be in October although health officials at the Department of Health will not confirm any particular date. The one thing that is known is that the first batches of vaccine will be given to vulnerable people such as ones with heart problems asthmatics and people working in the health field.

There is a lot of information about the Swine Flu on TV programs, in the news, and also online. The recent fatalities due to Swine Flu (HINI) in Mexico have frightened many people into taking positive steps to avoid the illness. Most of the precautions involve personal hygiene, travel advisories, public exposure, workplace sanitation, and healthy habits. These are actually common sense ideas. When in a public place avoid people who are obviously sick, especially if they are sneezing and coughing. This can present quite a problem in an enclosed space like on an airplane.

People who are sick with HINI should sneeze or cough into a disposable tissue. If one is not available, at least use the elbow not the hands. In the case of novel HINI, transmission occurs when there is close contact with an infected person wherein sneezed or coughed droplets become airborne. However much of germ transmission occurs because of contaminated hands that touch objects, mouths, noses, and other people. Children are a big source of cross-contamination. They need to be trained to wash their hands frequently and to shield a sneeze or cough properly. Disinfectant wipes should be standard in schools and child care centers.

At work areas where phones, keyboards, doorknobs, etc are shared by workers, disinfectant wipes can help prevent illness. They are germicidal against bacteria (even MRSA), viruses, and fungi, and are intended for use on hard, non-porous surfaces. Wipe any such surface that could be transferring germs by touching. Proper and frequent handwashing by all must be stressed, and is a simple way to prevent cross-contamination.
