This article is about “Alli dieting”, we hope to bring more articles about “Alli dieting” in the near future:

Alli is a recently popular over the counter weight loss medication. It is what is known as a lipase inhibitor. So it blocks the absorption of a significant amount of dietary fats. If you are planning on losing weight with Medifast, you might be wondering if adding Alli to your weight loss plan would make it even more effective. I have to say the answer to that is no. Let’s take a look at why.

First of all, Medifast is a low fat, carb and calorie restricted diet. Since it is already quite low in fat, Medifast themselves don’t recommend that you use Alli at the same time that you are using Medifast for weight reduction. While Alli does exactly what it is described to do, it blocks the absorption of fats, it really isn’t going to be too useful with a diet that is already low in fat.

Alli is an over the counter version of the medication called Orlistat or Xenical. The FDA approved it for use in weight control, but that is basically assuming you are eating a regular diet, not a diet as low in fat as Medifast. If you used Alli at the same time, you would block as much as 30% of your dietary fats absorption. The thing is, you actually need some fat in your diet. It is important for the absorption of certain vitamins & minerals. So you don’t want to go too low.

I think there are other good reasons for not using Alli however and they all come down to your GI tract. Side effects are quite common with both Orlistat and Alli. Diarrhea isn’t even the worst of it. How about some wet farts? Yes, not too pretty. Most of Alli’s side effects are related to the GI tract and the fact that if your body can’t absorb the fat you eat, there is only one place for it to go, out through your bowel movements.

Alli may also prevent the proper absorption of certain fat-soluble vitamins. Remember when I said you need some fat in your diet? Well, you definitely need it to absorb Vitamin D properly and many people are deficient in Vitamin D (especially in winter), so that’s not good either. The other important fat-soluble vitamins are A, E, and K.

If you do decide to try the Medifast program, I think you will find that you don’t really need the extra stuff that Alli does. Medifast can work pretty quickly if you follow the program on its own. So there’s really no need to use fat inhibitors or appetite suppressants along with it.

This article is about “Diet pill”, we hope to bring more articles about “Diet pill” in the near future:

Most people who think they are fat and needs to lose weight are looking for the faster and easier way of doing it. You can find several diet supplements in the market that claims to have this kind of effect on you, and one is Hoodia diet pills. You have to understand that merchants who sell these products aims to profit and dispose their product fast that is why they could say all the good things you want to hear about the product they are selling. The fact is that, Hoodia diet pill is not a “get slim quick” supplement.

But then by using Hoodia you can actually lose weight little by little by knowing how it works. This cactus like plant contains an active ingredient called the P57. This ingredient is responsible for making you think you are full even if you did not eat; therefore, Hoodia gordonii is a natural appetite suppressant. Hoodia limits your food cravings, they don’t burn fats, boost your metabolism or anything that will melt your extra pounds away. It is true that you can lose weight with Hoodia by often feeling full and as a result you will be eating less food that will eventually help you get slimmer.

There are some things to keep in mind however when taking in Hoodia diet pill, your body needs essential nutrients and calories from the food that you eat. It is important to eat healthy foods even in lesser quantity. Some people don’t eat at all since they are often not hungry because of the pill that they take.

Now, this is something that you need to know, skipping meals can make your metabolism lock up to protect the body. Your body will have to use the little calories you give your body so that it can still function well. It will not burn your calories instead; it will deposit the calories in your body as a reserved fat. Keep in mind that you still have to eat if you take Hoodia pills to keep your metabolism going. Since you will often feel full, you don’t have to eat as much food as normally you would do. This is the good news about Hoodia, it cuts down your food cravings.

Consider taking Hoodia pill before the times there’s a tendency that you over eat crave for unhealthy foods. Other Hoodia supplement brand recommends that you take it few minutes before meals.

Overall, Hoodia gordonii can be an effective way of shedding pounds since they act as a natural appetite suppressant. But then, don’t make it a habit to skip your meals regularly, it is vital to take in healthy foods for your body’s needs.

This article is about “Alli”, we hope to bring more articles about “Alli” in the near future:

Alli causes liver damage. It was all over the news. But is it a reason to stop taking Alli? How do you know you even have your liver damaged? And if you do, is there anything you can do to reverse it?

Actually, Alli rarely causes clinically significant liver damage. It might cause subclinical liver damage that reduces your metabolism, induces diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol, but it is not detected on standard liver panels.

Still, despite not being detectable except by biopsy, it doesn’t mean it isn’t there, and the problems it causes are enough for you to want to reverse it and prevent it from happening again, even if you continue taking Alli.

To find out if you have liver damage your doctor would usually test transaminases. But with subclinical liver damage these don’t show any alteration. Instead, you should check for signs and symptoms: do you often feel bloated? Do you have bad breath? Feel sluggish, tired, or down? Do you have difficulty losing weight? Are you obese? Do you have diabetes, high cholesterol, or hypertension? If you answered yes to more than one of these questions, it is likely that you have some degree of steatosis (50% of adults do).

Liver damage is not a disease for life. It can be reversed, but not through the use of drugs.

The first step is changing your diet. The standard recommendation of increasing fruit and vegetable consumption and reduce the intake of fat works wonders with your liver. Not only that, but using this diet, with Alli, and with other liver cleansing strategies will make your weight go away faster than you ever dreamed of.

Second, you want to cleanse your liver. Cleansing your liver is very simple – for a couple days to a week eat only vegetable and fruit juices. And presto, your liver is ready to reverse its disease.

The third step is providing your liver with the signals that make it renew its cells and reverse damage. Those can be made with a few herbs, milk thistle and artichoke being the most important (some studies have even shown that they can reverse cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis and liver cancer).

If you take these steps, you can be sure that your liver is protected. Not only will disease reverse, but you can actually keep taking Alli and rip its weight loss quickening benefits while protecting your liver and enhancing your metabolism.

When you reverse liver damage your weight loss will go even faster. Besides, it has the potential to reverse diabetes, hypertension and cholesterol, the major risk factors for the top causes of death among Americans.

This article is about “Meridia OR Sibutramine OR Xenical OR Orlistat”, we hope to bring more articles about “Meridia OR Sibutramine OR Xenical OR Orlistat” in the near future:

What Is Meridia Used For?

Meridia should be used by people who are overweight and have an inital body mass index of at least 30. It is recommended that Meridia also be used by people with BMI of at least 27 if they are at risk for high cholesterol, diabetes, or high blood pressure. Talk to your doctor to find out your BMI and whether or not it’s alright for you to use a Meridia prescription.

How Do I Use It?

Meridia should be taken orally and in the exact way directed by your doctor. This usually involves one dose daily.

It may take 4-6 weeks for results to show. Please do not raise your dose, take Meridia more frequently, or use your prescription for a longer time than prescribed by your doctor; Meridia can be addictive. If you have taken Meridia for a long time, please do not stop taking it suddenly without talking to your doctor first. As with many prescription drugs, Meridia may gradually decrease in effectiveness because your body builds tolerance to it. Talk to your doctor if you gain weight after you start taking your prescription. You make take it either before or after a meal.

Are There Any Meridia Side Effects?

The common side effects of Meridia include dry mouth, sleepiness, difficulty sleeping, and constipation. If any of the effects persist beyond the first week (approximately) or become worse, please tell your doctor as soon as possible. Read more on this warning here.

Please do not give your medication to others. Your Meridia prescription should be taken in combination with a diet plan of reduced calories. In order to monitor the possible side effects, your pulse and blood pressure can be measured and used in laboratory testing.

Is Meridia Safe?

Let your doctor know about your complete medical history. This includes any information regarding allergies (most importantly drug allergies), disease of the liver or kidneys, heart disease, history of stroke or seizures, high blood pressure, eating disorders (ex., anorexia nervosa), glaucoma, or gallstones.

Limit or avoid your intake of alcohol because it could make certain side effects worse. Women who are of the childbearing age should talk to their doctor about using any birth control pills with Meridia. Unless directed otherwise, do not use this drug while you are pregnant. Also, because there is a risk for infants, do not breastfeed while taking Meridia. Patients who are elderly may experienced heightened levels of side effects. Please use with cautious.

How Does Meridia Interact With Other Drugs?

Make sure you tell your doctor about all prescription and nonprescription medications you use; other weight loss medications in particular (such as diethylpropion), and drugs that may raise your blood pressure. Examples of these include decongestants such as pseudoephedrine and phenylpropanolamine.

Tell your doctor if you use any cough suppressants like dextromethorphan; antidepressants such as nefazodone; fluoxetine, sertraline, paroxetine, venlafaxine, and fluvoxamine. Other examples include lithium, MAO inhibitors such as selegiline, moclobemide, furazolidone, phenelzine, tranylcypromine, and other medications such as lithium.

You should also let your doctor know if you use any drugs to treat migraines (ex: dihydroergotamine and sumatriptan), certain pain relievers that are narcotics (ex. pentazocine, fentanyl, meperidine), erythromycin, ketoconazole. Also tell your doctor about any high blood pressure medicines you use, and any other drugs that may cause drowsiness. These include certain types of antihistamines (ex., diphenhydramine), anti-seizure, and sedative medications.

You can find antihistamines and decongestants for cough and cold in many nonprescription drugs. Talk to your pharmacist about this. Also, MAO Inhibitors and Meridia should not be taken together. If you stop the use of your Meridia prescription or an MAO Inhibitor, make sure to wait 2 weeks before you start using the other drug.

What If I Miss My Dose?

In the case that you miss one of your doses, please take it as soon as possible. However, if it is near the scheduled time for your next dose, just skip the dose missed and start back with your prescribed dosing schedule. Do not take twice the normal dose to make up for a missed dose.

How Should I Store Meridia?

Store your prescription at room temperature. This includes temperatures between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C). Keep it away from humidity/moisture and light. Make sure to keep all of your medications out of reach of children.

What Else Should I Know?

Do not share any of your prescription with people. Meridia should be used along with a diet plan of reduced calories. Your pulse and blood pressure can be taken/measured along with laboratory tests to monitor side effects.
