This article is about “Adhd essay”, we hope to bring more articles about “Adhd essay” in the near future:

Before even thinking about ADHD solutions for your child, consider the following facts. ADHD may have several causes but one of them is that the levels of dopamine in the child’s brain are decidedly low. Dopamine is responsible for our ‘reward’ system so is very closely linked with attention and motivation . Given that the child’s brain goes on developing until he or she is about 25, do you think it is a good idea to give him a psychostimulant so that it sort of kick starts the dopamine and other neurotransmitters into action ?. Could this be one of the best ADHD solutions for your child?

These ADHD drugs or amphetamine salts as they are so often glibly called come with various fancy names such as Ritalin, Adderall, Dexedrine and Vyvanse. Adderall is in great demand among college students for helping them focus and stay up all hours studying for a project, essay or exam. ADHD children are often approached by various people to sell them their drugs. Hardly a healthy situation for your child who may be struggling with inattention, hyperactivity, fidgeting and all the other problems that ADHD can bring. This could never be a solution for ADHD for my child.

These amphetamines do NOT cure ADHD. The latest alarming news is that the effects (reduction of symptoms) tend to wear off after only about two years and the benefits of the drug are no longer clinically relevant. Yet these drugs are the first option as one of the ADHD solutions and the real problem of trying to help the ADHD child to adjust and mature as a responsible adult, is ignored by many parents. The success rate and the side effects together with any long term risks are all hotly debated and there are more questions raised than answered. Why do you think that the Drug Enforcement Agency is worried that “many schools have more methyphenidate(Ritalin) stored on a routine basis than most pharmacies have in stock.”

Pills cannot teach skills. They calm some of the ADHD symptoms but they will never teach the child essential learning, social and communication skills which he needs when he is growing up. This is why parenting skills or behavior modification techniques are now favoured by most medical authorities and experts, much to the chagrin of the drug companies. Their websites have now taken this on board but they are still peddling their drugs as being essential rather than an option.

The best solution for ADHD is a combination of behavior modification techniques together with some medication, preferably in the form of ADHD homeopathic remedies which can calm hyperactivity and increase focus without any side effects at all. There are no long term risks either so there is no worry about heart problems, appetite, insomnia, dizziness, moodiness, zombie feelings which are the side effects of the amphetamines. Parents have to make a wise choice but they should consider the above information first before deciding on which of the ADHD solutions will be best for their child.

This article is about “Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder”, we hope to bring more articles about “Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder” in the near future:

People of all ages can get Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, also known as ADHD. But they might not understand what causes it, some of the symptoms and what they should do about it. One of the most classic signs is when you have trouble coping and dealing with things.

People that have been classified with Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder usually have problems with being able to focus for long periods of time. ADHD patients that attend school, college or if they work, have a hard time getting tasks finished. They also have a harder time setting in a desk for at least an hour. As a result, usually act out or if attending school, drop out.

The reason why you have problems dealing with things is because of a chemical imbalance that has not been treated the way it should. If you don’t treat these symptoms right away, the condition could worsen, causing problems for everyone.

A lot of research shows that diet is one of the reasons why people might get ADHD or why it might contribute to it. That’s why many people who have Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, must change their diet and turn it around.

They give certain medicines, but sometimes that’s not enough. You should talk with your doctor about what kind of diet you should go on. It really isn’t that bad of a diet and there are lots of options out there for you.

The most important thing is having patience with yourself and don’t stress when you hear that you have ADHD. Know that it can be controlled and that you’re not alone.

This article is about “Attention Deficit Disorder”, we hope to bring more articles about “Attention Deficit Disorder” in the near future:

Attention deficit disorder (ADD) also referred as Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurological disorder usually found in children of elementary school age. This condition begins in childhood and is mostly detected between an ages of four to seven. This situation is typically characterized by learning and behavioral disorders. A child having this disorder needs to be brought up with extra attention and care.

Causes

There is no particular reason resulting in Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). Researchers have however pointed to several factors which may cause this condition. They include genetics, physical and social environment and diet. Studies also indicate that as much as 75% of Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder is heritable to the genetics factor.

Environmental causes include tobacco, alcohol or exposure to smoke during pregnancy. Other important cause which plays a role is complications faced during pregnancy and child birth.

Other important cause is delay or early development of brain structure. For example frontal cortex and lobe are the ones responsible for focused thinking and an ability to control. If there is a delay in there development it can result in ADD.

Symptoms

Common symptoms observed in a child with Attention deficit disorder (ADD) is distractibility, hyperactivity and impulsivity. A child in this condition finds it difficult to perform an assigned task and lacks the ability to focus on important aspects. They may even be not able to complete the task as they move quickly from one given activity to another due to distractions caused by external environment.

Another symptom that can be observed is Inattention and forgetful behavior. A child suffering from ADD will find it extremely difficult to sustain attention in performing any task and even display inattentiveness when spoken directly to. This condition makes a sufferer forgetful even about daily repetitive activities.

Other symptoms include- Frequent daydreaming, difficulty in understanding and following instructions, fidgeting hands and feet, squirming in seat, and difficulty in remaining at one position, talking excessively, behaving aggressively and being restless all the time. Short term memory loss is also one of the symptoms of ADHD.

Treatment

Attention Deficit Disorder can be treated with therapy, medication or a combination of both. Studies have however proved that treating this disorder with both is more effective. A treatment strongly recommended for curing Attention Deficit Disorder is Homeopathy. It is very effective in improving concentration and attention span. Homeopathy is free of side effects and improvement in most of the cases is noted in about two to three months of starting medication.

Therapy includes counseling with psychologist or a psychiatrist for the patients suffering from ADD disorder. Psychotherapy teaches the patients to cope with prevailing symptoms. Behavior therapy is imparted to the parents or teachers so that they can deal with the child’s behavior.

Alternatively psychostimulants are prescribed to the patients by professionals. They are given to balance neurotransmitters or in other words brain chemicals.

If diagnosed and treated early, a child can grow up and adapt to normal routine life.

This article is about “ADHD”, we hope to bring more articles about “ADHD” in the near future:

The main thing is to not blame yourself or be embarrassed about your child’s condition. You need to accept the disorder first off and then learn ways in which you can deal with it and help your child to live with it, challenges and all.

ADHD can be a destructive disorder if parents who have children diagnosed with the disorder are not willing to work with a their children. The worse thing you can do is ignore the behaviors. They must be addressed to be overcome. Patience, love and support, these three things can and will get you through.

A child who has been diagnosed with ADHD is not purposefully doing anything to cause you the frustration you may feel. Deep down they want to please you as the parent by doing and saying what you want but the disorder causes them to not be able to exhibit this behavior. Instead they often act the opposite of how you want them too.

Responding to a child in positive manner will most likely help them respond in a like manner. Not always though, so it is important to remember they are not doing it on purpose. This is perhaps the most frustrating part and it can leave parents feeling hopeless.

The best way to deal with a child who is acting out because of the disorder is to find at least one thing positive in the behavior. Push them to be open about things they don’t like and then offer them a solution to the issue they are unhappy with. Always praise the child and never scold them for acting in a certain way even if it causes embarrassment for you.

Try and keep a sense of humor and show your child that you are not angry but are learning to deal with the disorder just as they are. If the child sees that you are in the fight to understand and deal with the disorder with them, then they may not feel so alone.

If you have other children in the home without the disorder, it is important to educate them about the disorder so they don’t take things too personally when the affected child takes something out on them. A supportive family dynamic is the most important thing you can offer a child who has ADHD.

Offering guidance to your child and to their siblings can create a better harmony within the household. This also goes for your partner. Parents raising a child with ADHD need to know how to effectively help and raise a child with ADHD. It has to be a partnership and both parents need to go through the challenges together and support one another 100%.
